Multiple bids for the valley this year or does the valley get only one. Thoughts anyone..... I feel we need to split with Northern Iowa and then seperate ourselves from the rest of the valley. Of course if we win the tournament it doesn't matter.

MVC is 1 bid league unless somebody other than UNI wins the tournament. But in that scenario UNI won't be resting easy (especially if they would happen to not be in the finals)
Reason why:
MVC - 9th rated conference in RPI (negative for multiple bids)
Expected RPI (source: http://www.rpiforecast.com/confs/MVC.html
UNI 21 (24-4, 15-3)
WSU 51 (23-6, 13-5)
MSU 74 (20-9, 10-8 )
ISU (R) 88 (20-9, 11-7)
For MVC teams to move into bubble territory to get more than one team they need for the conference to do very well in bracketbusters and see if they can jump A-10 and PAc10 from 9 to 7. For individual teams:
WSU could move on to the bubble by beating UNI twice and winning bracket busters (RPI would then be in mid-30/40's).
MSU would need to win 2 more conference games than projected and their bracketbusters game.
UNI is hampered by their schedule of being tacken to seriously. They have a bad loss against depaul and their best win is Siena (38th). UNI could help their case by getting a good bracket buster game (likely opponent Williams & Mary) and winning.

I think conference RPI plays a factor when you've got the upper half going to the tournament, and the middle of the conference on the bubble. Not so much when the only teams competing for bids are the top 2-3.

Otherwise, NI gets the only bid.I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

If Northern Iowa stays on track and on top of the Valley for the regular season, I believe they are likely in as an at large assuming they don't stumble in the first game of the tournament. I would be very surprised if any other Valley team makes it in without winning the tournament ... including WSU. If you accept the premise that WSU is the 2nd best in the league right now and we had to rely on our out of conference showing to make a case, I don't think it's nearly solid enough to get us in. The TT win is looking weaker everyday, TCU???, the road win at Cleveland State didn't turn out to be much help, the loss to Pitt doesn't look too bad at this point but overall ... just not a good enough non conference schedule/showing.
