 Yet, we deserved to win, Missouri Valley refs won't let us beat Creighton. Why does this sound so familiar?

It wouldn't hurt to make a shot and at least try to fould in the last 20 some seconds. You will have to admit we make too may stupid fouls

The lack of outside shooting was very apparent in this matchup. The Shox kept driving the ball, sometimes with success, most time not. Murry's avoidance of outside shooting is obvious in the last few games, probably because he is not confident of it. And Kyles is not shooting his outside shot either lately.

The dropoff in the team effectiveness when Hannah is on the bench is great. We need Williams to stepup more, and be more effective. He does not have the poise, or the shot, that Hannah does, at least not yet.

We are most effective when all the players contribute, not just 2-3 players.

I thought the refs were pretty bad yesterday. The NBA continuation for P'Allen and none for us, the foul calls and possibly lack there of in spots, the double dribble by P' Allen at the end. Yes, it was bad but I think there are too many topics about this. I said it in the game thread yesterday and I'll say it again today. (as it echoes several other posts) We shoot anywhere near our average at the line and none of this is a problem. We win easily. We played arguebly our worst, flattest game of the season against a team that may be turning a corner and we were still in the game at the end. We are a much better team than Creighton. The refs didnt shoot our free throws.

I am with you 100% boneshock but I think it still bears mentioning that you can't expect the guys to play their A game when they are so gun shy of a whistle.

I want to know what was said to the commish back when SIU was playing their tough defense and they were not getting foul calls. Somehow it was explained and understood that SIU could do what we aren't allowed to do.

I want to know what Coach Jans and Matt Braeuer were saying to the refs and the BJ Asst. at halftime. I imagine it was colorful to say the least!

It's never a good strategy to try and 'show up' the refs. One must always keep their eye on the prize and not let their emotions run wild.

Agreed. Might be the only time.

The refs didnt beat the Shockers.... that is a very "toolish" statement.

If the game had been called more evenly, the Shockers would likely have won. Make of that what you will.

I just wish that the Shox would realize that they need to just start stomping teams that need to be stomped and not worry about what the refs do.

Unfortunately, if the refs are going to decide within the first 5 minutes of the game that they are going to basically take away our best players with 2 quick fouls, I don't know how we can do that.

Screw refs! We got hosed at the end. Not that we would have won even if they did call a foul, but Jesus.

They probably would've have called an intentional foul on us anyway.

I with many was not happy with several aspects of this past performance. The Shox HAVE to recognize how the game is going to be called and adjust their play accordingly. I would compare it to a pitcher and working the corners of the plate. After awhile a good pitcher sees what is going to get called a strike and what the umpire is going to give him. Granted, it is more difficult to react for a basketball player to adjust his game but Clevin has to be on the floor for this team to grind out games. He has to recognize what the ref is going to let him get away with defensively and must adjust quickly...as in after the 1st foul to ensure that he does not pick up the critical 2nd foul. If he has to be the guy on the offensive end he needs to back it off on the defensive end.
