  • Revenge stokes Creighton's fire

“Coach talked about the streak the other day after practice,'' Harriman said. “It puts a little more pressure on us, and hopefully, that will make us play a little harder.''

Twice in the past four seasons, Creighton has needed late-game heroics to keep the streak alive. Anthony Tolliver hit a basket at the buzzer to give Creighton a 57-55 victory in the 2006 meeting. Two seasons later, the Bluejays rallied from a 54-39 deficit in the last nine minutes to pull out a 65-63 victory. Dane Watts produced the winning points with a tip-in with 16.7 seconds remaining.

Last season, Creighton saw long homecourt winning streaks against Northern Iowa and Drake snapped.
It's time to end the streak....
Creighton is encouraging fans to wear white to Saturday's game. The Bluejays are 3-0 in three previous “White Out” games. ...
    And this one too...

    Whatever.

Revenge is a powerful motivator and I PROMISE you last March's cheat is far more of a motivator for us than last weekend is for them.

Coach doesn't like these guys, Dana doesn't respect him or our program, and nobody, and I mean NOBODY, is going to get the best of Gregg today.

If WSU loses today, it won't be because of the white out, Dana's coaching ability, Creighton's revenge factor, Nebraska fans, the streak or anything else having to do with Creighton.

WSU IS the better team. Gregg IS the better coach. Our team has more talent and more reason to want this not the least of which is the Shocks are playing for a conference championship and CU has no chance.

IF the Shocks lose today, and I certainly am not trivializing the possibility, it will be due to the fact that we didn't compete hard enough, period.

Creighton is all talk and no hat....It's time to put them in their place, once and for all.

The opening line had Creighton as 1 point favorites. That's crazy for all the reasons that Doc said. Creighton was one of the worse teams so far in the season to bet on, seldom covering their line. It's just the name on the uniform. We have the much better team and much more to play for.

I notice they said we are 5-0 in road games this season. I just love it when journalists don't check their stats carefully...

Revenge? What, revenge on themselves for playing such a crappy game last Saturday?

Seriously, this won't be a walk in the park, but we WILL prevail.

Agree! And certainly all hat and no cattle.

No question we are the better team. But like I said in the predictions thread, sCUm will be jacked up for this one for many reasons.

This will be sCUm's largest crowd of the season for yet another year.

40 Minutes of hard, sustained effort = Win

                    20 minutes = ???

                      Yet this isn't a rivalry......

Maybe if we say it enough, it will be true....

I'm glad Dana got his 400th win out of the way. That gives them one less incentive to try to beat us.

I adjusted your quote to relect "they"
CU still is not a rivalry for me, though I suspect WSU is indeed their main rivalry.

these things are often determined by who wants it more. If coach didnt let the team get to much satisfaction in our win at home then I like our chances because we are the better team. I like us with a chip on our shoulders.

Creighton will try to make it a backs against the wall game and that may keep them in the game. Question is will it be enough for them.

If they want a white out then LETS BEAT THE WHITE OUT OF THEM.
