  • North Carolina can kiss our .....

Just because I think it's funny, here's a partial list of NCAA Division 1 teams that have as many or more losses as the three Kansas D1 schools combined (5) as of the morning of January 14, 2010:

North Carolina (Why are they ranked again? Oh! Right! Because they're North Carolina, that's why.)
    North Carolina State
    Maryland
    Louisville
    UConn
    Cincinnati
    Marquette
    Illinois
Indiana (Tom, I thought you were better than this!)
    Minnesota
    Ohio State
Creighton (Kick 'em while they're down, I say)
    Southern Illinois (ditto)
    Cal
    Oregon
    Stanford
    Arizona State
    USC
    'Zona
    UCLA
    Oregon State
Washington (yes, that's the ENTIRE Pac-10 with the exception of Washington State)
    South Carolina
    Florida
    Georgia
    Arkansas
    Auburn
    LSU
    Oklahoma

Now, that's partially due to an admittedly soft non-con schedule on our and KSU's parts, but we're a third of the way through the Valley schedule already so I think we're pulling our weight by this point.

DOn't tell me that those other schools haven't padded thier wins by playing soft teams. And I'm sure a mojority of them have stayed at home during the nonconference schedule. Furthermore, how many of those teams would we beat anyway? (we'd have to go on the road to beat them because they won't come here.

To make matters even worse how many of those teams are receiving votes in the rankings or projected as in the NCAA post-season tournament while we aren't. There is a lot of talk about rankings & the concensus seems to be to allow WSU to fly under the radar. I would rather be noticed & re recognized at tournament selection & recruiting time.

Seriously, can any reasonable person look me in the eye and tell me that there are two Pac-10 teams better than Wichita State at this point? And if UNC is still in the polls next week ... I don't know what to say. I'm pretty certain Bradley would beat them more times than not this season.
