Would have preferred it for a game, say on Saturday, but I'll take it tonight.
Eat it Sycamores.
I'm fine not needing last second bombs to win. I'd prefer beatdowns in our next two games en route to the Valley lead.
WSU had the Valley's best preseason record, is only 1 game out but all anyone can talk about is a team who can't draw fans.
But the real dagger came with 1:31 left in the game. Marshall drained a 3-pointer with 2:20 left to make it 74-69. ISU extended WSU to the limit of the 35-second shot clock. As WSU attempted a handoff near the top of the key near the death of the shot clock, Marshall tipped it away and Murry came up with the ball 32-feet from the basket with a second left to shoot. He lofted a prayer.
Swish. It was good. WSU led once again by eight.
“Demoralizing,” Crawford said. “You play 35 seconds of good D and they turn around and make that?”
Love it! :)
Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive. (Mt 21:22)
I gotta say, that while that 'unlikely' shot was pretty amazing, what I find most amazing about Toure is his work ethic. He is one hard working dude that's not afraid to bang heads with anyone in the lane. It was a little scary when he was slow to get up that time last night when he landed on his side pretty hard near the baseline, but it's that toughness that really defines him. Getting his long range shot back is a bonus for sure though. We're seeing just how all of that off-season strength and weigh training is helping our guys weather the tough Valley road as the season unfolds.
