    That's an unlikely scenario.

You do realize that the argument that there is a whole race of people physically superior, but less disciplined mentally was invented by slave holders who wanted to justify a system where black people did all of the manual labor, since they were naturally more suited to it than white people. Your argument is also politically correct, just for the politics of 1850.

Racial stereotyping, while popular with the cowardly, will never completely hide reality.
    Okay, let's try this again...

90% of our team is black and we are as athletically gifted as we have been in 25 years. Is this Affirmative Action gone wild? Please explain.

    I'm still waiting...
Still waiting for what? You just posted!

Why did the Yankees dominate baseball with a bunch of Italian players half a century ago? Was it because Italians are more athletically gifted than other racial groups?

Or could it be that racial groups with less opportunity in society have always seen sports as a way to gain upward mobility, therefore putting more emphasis on it and placing more members of their group in those sports.
    The Mad Hatter,

Have you ever been dunked on by a 5'11" white guy?

    Signed,

    Curious

Any player that has the fast twitch muscles is going to be quicker and jumper better than those player that don't. They still have to take advantage of that by working hard.

Because the Red Sox didn't have any black players (The Boston Red Sox were the last major league team to integrate). :)

"JACKIE ROBINSON'S vast (and deserved) fame tends to make us assume that blacks and whites never played together before April 1946. In truth, as the supply of black baseball talent exploded after World War I, the demand for it could not be contained either. There were of course the Negro Leagues. By the 1940s they were booming, and their All Star game frequently outdrew the white version (sounds like today's NBA)."

I appreciate your generalized point about working hard. Working hard is essential for each one of us to reach our potential. But this fact doesn't take into account the variance in each person's potential. I submit that a lazy Durley can easily dejock the average lazy white guy. Durley just has talent (some call it fast twitch muscle fiber) that simply cannot be created through hard work.

This is why there is no white people in the NBA

I sure somewhere in that statement explains the growing influx of Europeans in the NBA.

I was trying to find the ESPN video on white players in the NBA discussing how zone defense was reimplemented to offer the slower white defenders a break, but Youtube only pulled up the video I posted. It was funny; I thought I was watching Northern Iowa basketball.

I know, but I'm always willing to give people a chance to have a real argument.

Once someone is resorting to posting completely irrelevant videos as their response and not answering a single argument brought up by others, it proves that they were either being a troll or they simply lack the arguments or intellectual capacity to have a discussion like an adult. In either case, further argumentation is pointless.

One thing that amazes me about CH's free throw shooting is his pre-shot routine. If you look at his eyes, he never looks at the rim until he shoots the ball--every single time. I always tell my kids to focus on the rim before you shoot to increase the chance of making it, but his technique blows all of that out of the water.

There are studies that show waiting until the last second to see the rim actually improves shooting percentages. It has been a few years since I read them, but the concentration that helps one make the shot only lasts for an instant; therefore, waiting to look/focus is better.

Not that it means anything but that's how I shot FTs as well. I didn't hit quite as high a percentage as Clev though.

I was able to completely neutralize the premise of your argument with a couple quips and quotes. I haven't the interest or the time to get into a meaningless discussion over a topic that is essentially non-debatable. What simply is.. is. I'm neither ashamed nor proud of that reality.

Ah, yes. Rick Barry and his 2-handed underhand free throw style. Can't stereotype an aberration. I doubt you will ever see that style again, at least not with the success Rick had.
