there is a recruting thread about him, Stephen Rogers. A nice talent possibly with some D1 interest from BYU, Sandiego St and some others. One thing I saw someone found was that he is kind of a turn over machine...like 50 something in a span of games that was alarming almost.....maybe hes trying to be a PG too....most likely just bad passing in the paint or hes easily stripped1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

In the tv post game, Marshall was very complimentary about Kenny's minutes.
I think some people have blown Marshall's comments about Kenny out of proportion, and have too quickly jumped to the "is he going to be on the team" bandwagon. Marshall said the same kind of things about JT two years ago and about Kyle last year. Is is impossible that Kenny might leave? Sure, there is that possibility with any player, but it is clear that these kind of statements are how Gregg motivates and so far the guys he has directed those kind of comments at have stayed in the program and gotten better.
The fact that Kenny got in the game and played to Marshall's satisfaction may be a sign that he too is responding to the buttons Marshall is pushing. Let's hope that is the case."Cotton scared me - I left him alone." - B4MSU (Bear Nation poster) in reference to heckling players

With KT playing we probably would be better now on pressure defense and ability to score on the break. Let's see if the staff can develop his outside shooting, ball handling and free throws. In the fast lane

Let's face it. If the kids that we're getting had no flaws coming in, they wouldn't be coming to Wichita in the first place. They'd have opportunities to play in the ACC or Big East or Big 12. Part of recruiting to Wichita State is finding quality kids that will exceed their expectations, or were otherwise passed over. Another key is finding those kids early in the recruiting cycle, and forming a relationship with them.
A great thing about Wichita State (and the Valley) is that once we've got a kid, we can expect 4 and sometimes 5 years from that player. They'll get the chance to grow, learn the system, and truly succeed by the time they graduate.
P.S. I'm not saying that we can't land a blue chip athlete, especially with the upward progression of the program under Turgeon and Marshall.

Coaching lesson from a master.
Call a kid out for not getting with it. Play him 2 minutes in next game. He gets two open opportunities. Somehow praise those two minutes in a 4-5 sentence post-game commentary.
I hope that Kenny can get some real shooting training this spring and summer. His technique even at the FT line is unbearable to watch. But I love his length...he's obviously making a lot better decisions with the ball (9 assists to two turnovers since game #4)."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

All Marshall said was tha next years PG was up in the air and that he was looking for a way to settle it (maybe recruiting for one). He couldn't tell whether Manigault wanted it or not because he wasn't showing up for extra shooting sessions and he needed to improve his shooting and ball handling. Further, hee indicated that Williams was above KT (but barely maybe) because his work ethic was a little better. He never indicated that KT was on the way out.
