It's a shame our "conference championship" in website making can't count toward the All-Sports Trophy!

So why is this the image on the goshockers homepage for last nights game?

And this the image in the article?

This is just second rate and unacceptable.

For away games this is pretty typical since WSU isn't going to send a photographer with the team. So they choose pics from the archives that best fit the scenario. The first pic shows the team in jubilation after a victory. The second from one of Stutz' best games, since he was key in last night's win.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

My complaint is not with the new "look" of goshockers.com, but with the new "Virtual Guide". I realize that there is a push to put Media Guides on-line rather than printing out thousands of "books" and I fully understand it. I love the old "books", but realize that in this economy it can be much easier to simply put it on-line and update it very easily. The people who really use the Media Guide are certainly in the minority so most of the "books" that are printed are a waste of paper (and trees).

On the other hand, there are people like me who will constantly study the Media Guide. I not only pay attention to it, I constantly go back to it throughout the year to double check my memories of games, players, coaches, etc.

It makes great sense to put all that information on-line rather than printing thousands of unused books as it is easily accessed from anywhere when it is on-line.

My problem is that the new Virtual Guide does not include much of the information that the old Media Guides did.

When a co-worker tries to tell me that so and so played for this coach or that coach in 19XX, and I know that he was either before or after that, I always went to the Media Guide to prove my point. That information is not in the new Virtual Guide. How did Warren Armstrong (Jabali) rank in game, season, or career assists or rebounds? I could grab the Media Guide and tell you in an instant. I find nothing in the new Virtual Guide.

I am truly hopeful that the only things involved here is that they are still working to get all the information added to the Virtual Guide and not that they just do not think that info is needed. Even Mike Kennedy will have a horrible time keeping up with all his information if the Guide fails to track it in the future.

I have sent an email expressing my concern and hope that if there are others who consider that information as important as I do, they will do the same.

Doc, maybe you can tell me that I am wrong and that the information is available and easy to find. If so, let me (and the others) know.

                    Thanks

The 2009 baseball media guide is on there in PDF form:

Just took a look at the baseball guide and it does have a "Records" section that has all the information I was searching for in the Basketball guide. I suspect that the basketball guide will have it all too, just not there yet. Hope so anyway.

I love the online media guide. The section on what others say about Koch Arena is awesome.
