  • GoShockers.com make-over

I haven't seen anything posted on this yet ... if a discussion is already open on this topic mea culpa...

GoShockers.com has undergone a make-over. I think I like it. Graphics are good, photos seem bigger, layout seems logical.

I am having some issues with overlapping menus and graphics. Also, on the baseball and men's basketball stats pages, I am getting black text on a black background and can't see the year. In the "MORE FROM XXX SPORT", I would make the font bigger, but that's just me - I like big, obvious clickys.

Using IE 6 and Firefox 5 - these are the browsers we are forced to use at the office.

It looks like it is a work in prograss. Anyone else's thoughts?

    Definitely a work in progress.

The overlapping menus have already gone away!!!

I'm now sure I like it.

Maybe it's just my browser (IE6 at work), but I have to scroll and scroll to get to the bottom of the page.

Also, it uses the old WSU icon for the background, which is what it used before.

The drop down menus seem really temperamental. Once they appear, it's often hard to click the item you want without them disappearing.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I wish website designers would use color combinations that partially color-blind individuals can see (10% of the male population). The blue links on the home page are eye-straining to me, at the very least.

I'm using Chrome and it looks horrendous. Does it look better in IE or Firefox?

To me it seems they are try to save money.

I have had issues with it in both Safari and Firefox but it does come up ok in IE.

Running Firefox 3.5.7 on an iMac, and it seems okay after a very cursory look-see.

Looks the same for me in Chrome and IE8.

It's basically a "skin" change, as the content section of the pages (ie, roster and schedule) look the same as they did on the old site.

My overall impression is that while I like the graphics a little better, it took a slight step backward in terms of polish and professionalism.

I do like the menus across the top much better than the side since it allows the dynamic content area to be larger.

Has anyone located the highlight videos yet? They used to post them after each game. You could also watch the Shocker Sports Report. I don't see them. The only multimedia appears to be ShockerVision.

Ah, the "All Video" link in the ShockerVision section.

                            Thanks!

Had issues with it in Safari when it first came online but it is working fine now. Looks good.
