"Perhaps no two programs since then have followed a path quite as similar as ISU and WSU have, so it’s appropriate that tonight’s game at Hulman Center presents a sort of crossroads for both the Sycamores and the Shockers."
Where's Cold when we need him? No way he let's this gem slide......he has to be shaking right now.
Doc, I think he was talking about since the two coaches took over 3 years ago. And that includes ISU being much better in year one.
At this point, I would tend to think it was correct. If we win tonight and Indiana State loses that confidence they have built, even without Kelly, they could spiral out of control. However, a win could solidify them as a upper half Valley team.
With a win tonight, without Kelly, and Indiana State is 4-2, same as WSU in the league. A place WSU would not be without Clevin Hannah.
A Wichita State win moves us to a point where we could start to open this up. It could be a two horse race, and with our closing schedule, I like our chances.

I know you are right, but they mention it more than once and there is an inference there imho. Perhaps I am reading too much into it. Still, when was the last time ISUB WASN'T in the play-in round?
These are 2 vastly different teams. And frankly, VASTLY different coaches. Gregg's history at Winthrop far outweighs Kevin's at UNO if you ask me, and I don't care how good of friends Dana and Kevin are.

I know this is why they play the games. No doubt ISUB is playing well and making the most of their talent and true, the Trees may well win tonight. I still don't think the two teams, programs, coaches or anything else are remotely close to being comparable. And I doubt anyone that is honest and unbiased thinks so either.
Sure you do, at least a little. No way McKenna coming from Creighton doesn't impact your opinion of him. I know it does me, but he seems like a very "not Dana" guy. We all have our faults, his seemed to be a decision to join Creighton's staff.
They are different teams, and as the writer said (you must give him that he is infinitely better than Marie P) tonight to be the separating moment for the two. WSU needs to take that next step, and tonight is the night.
Either INSU is a difficult team to figure out or I'm just hesitant to state the obvious.
They have two wins against top-100 RPI teams: #93 Colorado St. at home and a good win at #48 W. Kentucky. To offset those, they have home losses to #146 Coastal Carolina (by 15) and #256 Ball St.
Their 3-2 MVC record has come against the bottom five league teams: @SIU (L by 18), CU (W), @DU (W by 16), @BU (L) and UE (W).
They looked pretty good against UE on Sunday, but I'm not sure how much of that was due to the opponent. Even if they win tonight to tie us at 4-2, they could easily be 4-6 after the following four games (@UNI, @MSU, UNI, SIU) and 5-9 after the next eight.
I must be too mean spirited. I thought Evansville was bloody awful and Indiana State was just less awful. If we don't draw and quarter these guys in the paint, I will be extraordinarily frustrated.
