SIUs Nick Evans was ejected. i think he took a swing at (creightons) Millard.
earlier in the game Millard had been jumping around and bragging after making a basket. thought he was realll cool.
so, as malicious as this sounds, he probably deserved it.

You could see on the half court camera replay they showed after comeing back from break that the first time they get tied up running down the court Evans popped him in the mouth...Millard chased him down and it looked like Evans popped him in the mouth a second time.

Texas Tech NEEDS to come back and win this in the 2nd half. Their next game is on the road at KU, and an 0-3 start in the Big XII would be a death knell.

          Come on Raiders!!!

Millard did something thugish here a year or two ago.
He got in PJ's face at the game in Wichita Pj's Senior year. Can't remember exactly what happened. They both were on the ground and Millard (kinda looks like an ostrich on a meth binge) elbowed him or pushed him or something. He has been on my p'unk list since then.

If we keep winning then we don't need to worry about or Non-Con.

No matter how much you win, having the teams you beat boost your RPI is always a good thing. Even once you do enough to get an at-large bid or win your conference tournament to get the auto-bid, you can always help your seeding by having your non-con opponents show well.

Not true unless you are banking on finishing the regular season 29-2 and then losing in St. Louis.

Our margin for error is razor thin this year. Our league is still down, and our RPI will not be mind-blowing. We will be allowed about three losses in league play, and even that may leave it open to some debate. A couple spots in the RPI may wind up being VERY important.

                      • The Millrd/Evans "fight" looked like a fight in a girls' game - not even a womens' game.

If you're going to take a swing at someone and get ejected, you might want to at least leave a mark.

                        • They showed it again and I don't see anything that qualifies as a flagrant foul. The first time was a forarm to the chest (not hard at all) then more of a defensive reaction when Millard charged him.

                          • Doesn't an ejection for fighting have an automatic one-game suspension? That would mean Evans is out for SIU's next game, too.

As I keep recalling more and more of that seldom-used rule, it seems the officials can eject a player and determine it wasn't for fighting, in which case there's no suspension for the next game. It's a weird deal.

                              • Well it has become painfully obvious that Tech was a farce.

Nice empty arena too. Looks good on tv.
