I think we ought to redshirt Dan, Fredster, and MTXE.

I don't think they are posting up to their capabilities and I think a year off would really help them develop and be better contributors to ShockerNet. Maybe they're as good as they're going to get, but another year of maturity certainly should help.

Besides, we're deep enough with similar posters and could afford having them sit out for a year.

There are some posters on here (without naming any names) that could benefit from a transfer to another school. Maybe they're just not D1 material.

Ellis is doing fine. I do wish he would average 6-8 points a game though.

That's a good one. Hey I'm not on here every day so it's hard to keep up with all the discussions but I'm not a bandwagon fan by any means. I'm just throwing something out there. One of my real concerns is whether we're bringing in quality big men to reload rather than rebuild. We're really going to take a hit in 2 years. I hope we have some serious players lined up.

It's fun to speculate about the future. Dan is correct in that we will have 6 players fitting into the 2 "big" spots next year, as opposed to 4 players splitting time in those 2 spots this season. It would make sense to some, that we redshirt 1 of those 6 guys, saving a season for when we would need it later, rather than waste all that unused depth. Of those 6 guys, only Stutz and Ellis would be available for a redshirt season, the other 4 having already used their redshirt seasons. And please, don't come back with some idea of how Stutz could play the 3-spot or Durley could be the next Magic. Ellis is having a nice year, btw.

Dan They had a couple of JC prospects at the TT game, at least one of them was a 6'9" forward. Don't know that they are lined up yet but they are lookiing.

By the way. Ellis is married and I think has a baby. He probably has other things to be responsible for and may not want to be a 5 year player.

Redshirt a starter on a 14-2 team contending for a Valley Championship... Brilliant!!!!!

If I would red-shirt anyone it would be Stutz. As another poster pointed out. His upside would be enhanced by a year out to develop his skills, but we have a coach to decide those things. Normally, I would think red-shirting a player between his sophomore and junior year would be crazy, but I know a player at another school who did just that, who is now the second leading scorer on his team.
