I can’t believe someone started another thread; similarly I cannot comprehend why anyone believes they have cause to be critical of the overall play of Ellis this year.

He should be congratulated, commended, and encouraged by all WSU basketball fans for the way he has embraced his role on this team.

Not all can or will be star players. Most players have their roll in a team's scheme and that roll can be very valuable. Ellis has the coaches' respect and is filling a valuable roll for the Shox. Thanks Aaron!

There is no reason to redshirt Ellis. With HCGM's current recruiting trend, Aaron won't be good enough to play on a Shocker team in a couple years.

He's a defensive specialist with some timely rebounding and occasional scoring. In my opinion, Aaron Ellis will be replaced in a couple years with - at minimum - a Gabe Blair type player.

The longer we have Aaron the better, however I don't see any problem at all with his play. I love it and opposing players hate it.

Senior day next year will be a sad day.

Just stop the silliness, all of you.

AE does exactly what the man in charge wants him to do.

AE does things in the manner the man in charge requires.

AE's roll has been clearly defined by the man in charge.

AE understands his role and has clearly bought into it.

Until the man in charge decides otherwise, things will remain the same.

On a related note, the man in charge team currently has a record of 14-2.

So the man in charge actually wants Aaron - who is the 2nd tallest player as well as a starter - to be 6th on the team in rebounding and 8th in scoring? I knew Gregg was complex but that is really mind-boggling. :)

Until now, some of your posts have been, if nothing else, thought provoking.

This one clearly illustrates you're just trying to be an assclown.

There are many things that go into developing a successful and winning team.

Scoring & rebounding are important, I agree. But they are just part of the equation.

Chemistry, attitude, desire and the right pieces in the right place are all integral and mandatory.

A true basketball guru appreciates the part of the team who screens, plays bad-ass defense and gives 110% every time.
Without these intangibles, the team has no chance for success.

Once again, the man in charge has his team sporting a 14-2 record.

Arguing with this level of success is asinine. 8)

Yesterday, AE's role was to cover Mallett. That is a guard and he was chasing him around constantly (this allowed TM to cover their top scorer and shut him down until the middle of the second half).

                            Mallett got 21 and 9.

Good to hear as I'm an AE supporter too.

His role is similar to what Ryan Martin provided during the 2006 tournament run. The only difference is AE is taller, faster and more athletic.

I'll take it every time. 8)

Ellis was chasing him on the perimeter for much of the game. This totally changes how you rebound and I don't think that he was used to rebounding this way. Guards often get long rebounds and good guard rebounders are very good at reading angles, etc. Hannah is a good rebounder for a guard who rarely mixes it up with the trees.
