  • Omaha Area Watch Party (1/9/10)

Omaha area alums and Shocker fans are invited to Indigo Joe's located just west of 72nd & Dodge here in Omaha. This is our first shot at hosting such an event in the heart of Bluejay Country and how fitting that we're taking on CU to kick things off.

Game starts at 1:05 pm Saturday (9th) and I highly encourage those able to make it to arrive 30-45 min. ahead of tip-off. The owner of the bar isn't a Creighton fan (he's actually a Tulsa grad), but said for this particular game we won't be able to have reservations. All other non-conference games we'll have a spot. If we bring in some strong business, maybe that will change.

    Indigo Joe's:

    7425 Dodge St., Omaha, 402.502.2777

The Alumni Association will be sending out e-mails to all Omaha area alums sometime later today or tomorrow. If you know of someone living in the area, please pass the information on to them.

    Back to shoveling....

    Wow, that's great.

I'd love to see some Creighton fans walk in expecting to watch the game at a "friendly" Omaha bar, only to see Shocker fans have taken over the joint.

Here's to a large Shocker contingent taking you up on your offer.

Alumni Assoc. tells me that there are 1,300+ alumni within a 50-mi radius of Omaha and 375 of which have "good" e-mail addresses on file. I hope those able to unthaw themselves will make it out.

That would be a dream scenario.

Getting ready to head that way now. I'm going out on a limb here by giving this out, but if anyone is headed there give me a call at 316.644.XXXX. (Since the game's over I took liberty & removed the last four digits - DUShock).

In the future it will be best to have an RSVP of sorts to have a ballpark figure when we walk in the door.

                    GO SHOX!

All things considered (weather and inaugural event), the wife and I were pleased to have a few fans join us. In all, we had 6 ppl. sharing a few pitchers of beer and cheering on the team - we hope to have an even better turnout next time (probably UNI since we'll be at the game here in town).

                      Great win Shox!
