They Shocks are playing at a level I did not think they were ready to be ... yet. The wins are coming without a few key guys contributing at their fullest potential either, so the Shocks could get better.
Next four is another tough stretch, too. 3 of 4 on the road, Drake is playing better, and capped-off again with UNI in Cedar Falls. This probably should be another thread, but the upcoming stretch will define where we finish in conference.

...stay thirsty my friends...
Look at 'City getting all up in the perfectionosphere.
My 3 crow omelet at the Good Egg was very tasty this morning. The side of crow hash and the 2 huckleberry and crow pancakes were delicious as well.
No way I thought this team was ready to go 4-1 and 2 points from 5-0. The heart they showed last night was really, really fun to watch.

I'm not saying we will go 4-0 in this upcoming stretch, but IF we do, it could well be the fires in which champions are forged. But forges are rather toasty and its easy to get burned.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

The key stretch of the conference season probably started with the Indiana State win at Terre Haute through the UNI game in Cedar Falls on February 3rd.
A stretch of 7 games including 5 on the road (INS, CU, Drake, SIU and UNI) and home games with UNI and ILS.
Off to a good start at 2-1, although the loss to CU still sticks in my craw.
Not long ago the roadie at Drake did not seem like a big deal, but they are playing much, much better and have won 3 consecutive MVC games with a road win at SIU and home wins over MSU and ILS. Pretty solid.
ILS who throttled us pretty good in Normal maybe playing as poorly as any team in the league right now, but no doubt O and his teammates will find themselves against the Shocks.
We finish this tough stretch with roadies at SIU on January 31st and UNI on February 3rd.
So the BIG question now is where will be be on February 4th. We are 6-2 in the MVC right now. We are @ Drake, home vs ILS, @ SIU and @ UNI to finish this tough 7-game stretch.
I think we will go 3-1 which will put us at 9-3 in the conference and complete what is probably our most challenging stretch of games this year.

The only loss I think the Shox will have in the next 4 games is @UNI.
(W) @Drake - This will probably be a tougher win then @SIU seeing that the Bullpups are playing pretty loose right now. However, if this team TRUELY feels they are in the race and understand what that means...they find a way to win this one.
(W) Home vs Illinois St - I'm not picking against WSU at home...nuff said.
(W) @SIU - SIU isn't the same SIU team of old. They are beatable no matter where they play now. They don't have no where NEAR the home court advantage they once had. Shox win this one.
(L) @UNI - A win here and I'm not sure anyone could stop us the rest of the year LOL. I'm just not sure it will happen. It's hard enough to beat a solid contender like UNI once...let alone twice. And what if we meet up with them in St Louis? How many times does a team beat another team 3 times in one year? Especially high caliber teams like WSU and UNI. After UNI pretty much dominating most of the teams they played for so long I told myself I would be happy if we split with them. Well I guess I'm guaranteed to be happy."He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
