  • MTXE Players (Updates)

It would have been nice if the Eagle had provided some background on each of the players in terms of where they reside now, what they do for a living, etc.

Does anyone have this information they could share for those Shockers who were in attendance Sunday afternoon?

I know Lew Hill is an assistant with Lon Kruger at UNLV.

X-Man was on the Sports Sunday Sitdown and mentioned what he is up to. I can't remember everything he said, but I believe he owns a janitorial service. I think he also mentioned about being in the real estate business also, but I could be off.

He also mentioned his daughter as being a top 100 recruit being looked at by alot of schools (especially on the East Coast....Duke...etc). Then mentioned he has a son who is an "up and comer" also.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

X has several business ventures, the most recent being a janitorial service. He has managed his finances VERY WELL. My guess is he is as fearless a business man as he was a competitor on the court.

I don't have any details but my understanding was that Mike Denny also has done quite well for himself.

Kruger's staff is all Kansas folk.

Shocks should get a series going in the LVC. Lots of basketball talent in the valley, plus it would be a "returning home" game for Demetric.

Games at the Tommy-Mack are fun, but they just can't compare to the Chuck.

If I read that right, it's not going to happen as long as the MVC/MWC series is active.

Did anyone else find it odd that Lew Hill was here for MTXE day considering it is the middle of college hoops season and he's a coach? Putting 2+2 together.... I hear Kruger wants to play a game at the IBA, but not against the Shocks... wants to play KSU as a neutral site return game in Wichita. The reason he wants to play in Wichita is because he's hot after Perry Ellis. I also heard PE was at the game Sunday. Makes one wonder what Lew was really doing here... just wondering.

Has anyone been able to listen to The Gameplan on KGSO? They've been talking to the former MTXE players this week. They had X on this morning at 7 but I wasn't able to listen. And I guess they don't archive The Gameplan like they do Shocker Soundoff and The Pressbox.

Now that Paul Savage is on, I don't listen. I listen to Mike and Mike instead.

I've liked a lot of Shocker coaches, but my greatest moments came from one coach and many greatest moments will come from the other. MT brought us some great moments, but these two guys are really special. Hopefully my new Avatar shows them well.

It was great to see Gene that comfortable on the court and with the program.

There was a time that would have been difficult.

I'm pretty sure Gene didn't make a stop up in Lawrence to say hello. If he did stop I bet he said something else.

I heard a clip from Cliff this morning on KGSO. Sounds like he is still coaching and is working overseas as an assistant with the Qatar National team.
