Actually, Murry was the leading scorer with 13 points, along with Reggie Chamberlain, in the game there last year.

Yeah, no kidding. 316 is the only one.
She's OK; it's country music I dislike. (I phrased it the way I did to see if you know who she was. )

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

This will be one of the biggest road crowds WSU will face except at creighton. MSU had 10.008 for the ISU game, im expecting there to be around that. Im still waiting for that Toure' Murry break-out game. If he could have that break out game on wed, and everyone else step up a little more from the Bradley game we will win.

I think the Shockers are very capable of winning this game. The keys though are playing some defence and starting out getting the ball inside. I feel like whenever WSU goes on the road, the defence starts to fall apart. I also feel like everytime WSU gets the ball inside early in the game they play well. This will force MSU to pack it inside and then we can kick to Hannah, Murry, Kyles, and Hatch. I think we can do it but there is still a small voice in the back of my head that says we cannot win on the road.

I expect a very close game

            Shox- 68
            Bears-63 OT

Very close and exciting game. Shox some how pull it out.

Hey now Fever, I though you had turned over a new leaf? You mean I'm not the only one out there that did not put all my stock in the cupcake schedule?

Yes folks, I think our cupcake schedule has done more harm than good for this team. Sure, sure, we can't control that TCU and Iowa are not as good this year, but still, our schedule has not prepared this team to win MVC games.
I've said this numerous times that our non-con schedule was way more padded than it needed to be. And I will continue to say that our schedule next year needs to be without 2 SWAC teams, 2 Summit teams, and a provisional team.

Ah. I kinda just forgot entirely about that embarrassment of a game.

I agree with Calfan, when we get our inside game going against the Bears is when we have the most success. Durley and Stutz have to play well, but I think the pressure will be on our 4's, Ellis and Blair. If they both turn in strong games, we can top the bears.

And of course, our guards have to perform well too. Kyles needs to show up this game.

                      Shox - 74
                      Bears - 71

keep our bigs out of foul trouble and guard the perimeter. If we do these things we win. Also of note, the Il St game was coming off Christmas break and the guys were out of routine. They came out sluggish and we lost. I think this will be a different story.

This game will tell us what this WSU team is made of.

Before I make my prediction....Who are the referees for this game? That will decide alot of stuff before hand. :)

I think the Shocks come out ready to play. Our bigs dominate the Bears and win in a close one, decided by us making our FT's down the stretch.

                            Shox : 69
                            Bears: 63

BTW, lots of good tickets left. MSU ticket office has lowered the price to $7 for a upper bowl seat and $10 for a lower bench seat. I just purchased two chairbacks on row 10 just off center court at the box office. Hope to see some WSU fans there.

MSU is playing well but even with their record, there is no bearmania here. The WSU fans are the best by far.

I have no idea on picking a score, but I definitely like our match-up with the Bears.

Minutes over the last 5 games, season PPG, (S)starter:

                              Leonard (S) 6'1" - 35, 36, 37, 38, 37 - 36.6 mpg - 13.2 ppg

                              Mallett (S) 6'3" - 35, 35, 34, 39, 33 - 35.2 - 10.0

                              Weems (S) 6'6" - 34, 23*, 27, 35, 15* - 26.8* - 15.1

                              Fuehrmeyer 6'1" - 16, 22, 27, 35, 25 - 25.0 - 4.1

                              Creekmore (S) 6'9" - 21, 22, 16, 22, 22 - 20.6 - 6.9

                              Patterson 6'11" - 18, 26, 20, 25, 14 - 20.6 - 7.4

                              Pickens (S) 6'4" - 14, 18, 11, 9, 17 - 13.8 - 3.7

                              Ricks 6'1" - 13, 5, 6, 10, 7 - 8.2 - 4.4

                              Jones 6'5" - 9, 5, 10, 2, 10 - 7.2 - 1.8

                              * Weems in foul trouble those games

To be effective, the Bears need their big 3 to play a LOT of minutes. It appears that they play a 3 guard lineup most of the time. If they continue this, I like our player match-ups. Keep fresh legs against those 3 and play smart D.

If they try to go big more than normal (Creekmore/Patterson/Weems), I think Creekmore and Patterson will wear down fast against our 4 bigs and Weems at the 3 would see Murry, Kyles, and Hatch. Hannah/Williams would have to take on Leonard, and Murry/Kyles on Mallett.

I believe we have the advantage athletically and with our depth. It will be our mind set that will determine the game.

That certainly would indicate that we have more depth and if the kids play defense like their hair is on fire and stay out of foul trouble, they should be able to wear MSU out. It appear that the Shox are a couple players deeper.
