  • I forgot to add, Demetric Frickin Williams.

His D was fantastic, and he was a game changer with his energy. He is a balla, and if you were watching (and I know you were) you saw glimpses of a young man that will light up this league before he's done.

I usually do not like trash talking on the court (let your actions do the talking) but I have to admit some enjoyment when DW started lighted up Josh after he buried that 3 to open up the game. He was barking at him all the way down the floor, I gotta lot more.....a LOT more.

    Dude can ball.

    • DW, aside from a couple very freshman fouls, had a very nice game. He needs to grow up in a hurry, as he might well be our starting PG from his sophomore season on!

I heard on last night's post game with HCGM that while he was pleased with DK's play in the second half, he does need to take the open perimeter shot more often and not always fake and drive. Coach then paused and said specifically that HE would be working individually with DK today on that. Love how HCGM will compliment what is due, but always wants everyone (fans included I think) to dig down for a little more. That is how champions are forged.

      • What was up with JT? He seemed to be in the doghouse last night. Anyone else notice that? I noticed when Garrett had his shot blocked, then he got the put back, Coach immediately was in JT's face on the bench as if to say, "Look--he's doing it, why can't you?" I have no idea if that's what actually was said. Anyone else have any insight?

        • I did like the change in athletes in the second half, and it was noticeable. I am obviously not a coach, but a fan alone. From that back ground, does anyone else feel that while GM makes good personnel moves to exploit match-ups, he does not make good strategic plays/sets to exploit the offensive/defensive scheme?

I often notice that certain teams (usually the ones that beat us) will take advantage of our weakness and burn us for 15 minutes using the same set, whether that be the high pick-and-roll, or drive and dish. To me, that is an area of GM's coaching I would like to see improved.

          Any thoughts?

          • From a personnel stand point last night, I felt that our four big men were solid but not spectacular. Williams and Kyles looked good. Hannah and Murry looked okay. Hatch looked awful minus the two-in-a-row three balls.

Loved all the shot blocking and the increassed intensity in the second half, but the passing against an unathletic, but well executed zone was horrific! We will have to do better.

            • As raw as VanDeest (Drake's center) looked, I was surprised that the Shox couldn't make more of an inside game with their bigs. I was not too impressed with either of our posts during this game.

              • 1. Not in my usual seat last night, was that Bucky Walters that almost got hit by the water bottle?

                2. I am incapable of keeping track of which offical made what call, but the refs sucked last night.

                3. I really wish Manigault would get some minutes.......and at point guard, not at a wing.

                4. Hard for me to imagine paying 11 bucks or whatever it is, for a bottle of water, and then throwing it away.

                5. If Turg was still here, Wedel would be a Shocker.

                6. Took some of the grandkids last night, and one of them snagged a mini basketball. Very nice.

                7. TM was better, but not by a lot.

                8. We overpassed last night, time after time. Shoot the damn ball.

                9. Murry needs to get his confidence back. OH REALLY ?????

                10. OK, I know that I am being oldschool, but on a TEAM, everybody oughta wear the same outfit, during the game, during the shoot around, and during the introductions. JMHO.

I am going to attribut that to the poor passing against the zone. They should have gotten the ball inside more often to exploit our strength there.

                  • For the record Sanzere's whistle was clearly audible on the Radio Broadcast. That was the whistle that whiped out DK's Basket.

                    • The matchup zone is tough to play, but when done correctly, it's even harder to attack.

You're either going to chuck up open 3s or be patient and get the ball inside.

All we had to do last night is take care of the ball just a little and it would have been a 35+ point game.

The eye test results were evident last night.

                        • Seeing D Williams take a step forward last nite was very exciting. Marshal seems to be grooming him to be the main PG next year...Taking over the same team with a few additions...He will be stepping into a very, very good, experienced team. Alot left to enjoy this year...and next.

Told you noone likes John Higgins, what a puss ref.

Or are you talking about Sanzere?
Sanzere. He'd look much more at home wearing equestrian attire and riding a Persian down the stretch than he'll ever look officiating a basketball game.

You arrive to the game, get your refreshments, and go near to your seat and chat with friends. Maybe you grab your phone and update your facebook status with "Go Shox!" It's a game-night tradition; you settle yourself in for two hours of entertainment by doing what you've done for at least a few seasons now. But before you do, look out on the court and see if the Jockey is there. If he is, realize that you've paid good money for a big 'ol shitshow.

At some point in the evening, if not at several, he'll make a horrible call. It will sometimes feel like a punch square in the nuts. You'll want to believe, just for the sanctity of the game, that you missed something and the call was actually fair. But instant replays will confirm the horribleness, and a second punch in the nuts will be applied.

Maybe it's because it comes as such as a surprise to many? Here you have little bitty Sanzere. A guy who looks like he could have been all wrapped up under your tree on Christmas morning. When you open him he'll ride around in your GI Joe dune buggy. You'll get pissed when your sister tries to make him have tea with Barbie.

But no. This little man has the ability to make calls that will affect the game in colossally negative ways. I'm afraid the game is just much too big for him.

The Jockey will ruin your Christmas. There. I said it. RUIN CHRISTMAS.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
