I just realized something after you posted Creighton's record. The number 5 you have as an avatar wouldn't happen to correlate with CU's win total would it? Please tell me you aren't that obsessed...
Cold, if you were here the entire year, you would've known that my avatar has been up since November 1st. It goes well with my signature.
How's the hiding game going?
So what does the "5" stand for?
Are you really that dumb?
I would think this kind of tone is fairly odd if not hazardous coming from someone boldly displaying the cross of Christ in their avatar. Doesn't the very idea of Calvary convey mercy and forgiveness? Yet you respond to a simple question not only with, "are you really that dumb", but you also use it in a pejorative context simultaneously condemning all "dumb" as inferior. Not good. :(
Mark 10:31 -But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
Can someone answer my question? Does it mean he is a fan of #5 Demetric Williams?

He has already answered what his avatar means. His signature is the lines of text at the end of each one of his posts. read the bottom of any of his posts and that is where the number 5 comes from.

I'm thinking that Pat Knight will be revising his philosophy (or be having it revised for him) on how best to 'prepare his team for conference play' next year. Instead of cruising into his conference with a shiny top-25 ranking, he has frittered it away proving how little of a gap there really is between most BCS and top non-BCS teams.
He 'earned' his ranking with a surprising road win over then overrated Washington State. Instead of whisking his ill-gotten gains safely back to Cupcake City, he takes his team on a road gauntlet of BCS-Killers, leaving them rank-less and without confidence heading into conference play.
'But it will make them tougher', you say. For what? They don't have the guns to challenge Kansas or Texas for the top spots -or perhaps even the top four or five spots. How tough can Texas Tech ever be? If they would have snuck into conference play ranked and full of confidence, they would have had the opportunity to either 'play up' to their rank or get beaten. Regardless, it would have been a win - win for the Big 12 because most of the votes would have stayed in conference.
There is a reason why BCS schools are scared to play competent teams outside their fraternity. I suspect that right now Pat is standing in a very lonely room. Wichita State fans love him, but his A.D. and the rest of the Big 12 disapprove. I think his dad has softened a bit in his old age on the fairness of the monopolistic concept of the BCS fraternity, especially since his ouster at Indiana. But I would suspect that he 'played by the rules' just like everybody else when he mattered.
Every time a BCS coach tries to do the right thing, they are delivered a harsh lesson. John Brady scheduling us for a 1-1-1 and the subsequent beating he received on the 1-1 very likely played a part in his firing. Mark Turgeon agreeing to play New Mexico at a site other than their building (and losing), caused him so much frustration that he began vomiting BCS arrogance in quantities that would make Gary Williams proud.
As the coaching carousel goes round and round, there will be another BCS coach who has yet to learn his lesson. Hopefully we will be the school to teach it.
I didn't really feel like starting a new thread (ok, I really DID but I wasn't sure anyone would like it) but here are some former Shockers (and almost former Shockers) and what they are doing at other schools.
Denzel Bowles is lighting it up at James Madison. He's averaging 24+ and 11 boards since becoming eligible. Yikes.
AJ Hawkins is having a good year at Oklahoma Baptist. The team is 11-0 and averages a 30 point spread. Hawk is averging 19 and 6.
Reggie Britton (walk on 2008-09) is averaging about 9 points for Ouachita Baptist.
Wendell Preadom is averaging 12 points and 5 boards for Houston Baptist.
That was indeed him. He was listed on their 08-09 roster as a sophmore (or freshman depending where you looked). His "trade" was listed as a rigger. He lead the team in rebounding average, 10 ppg, and started 19 of 22 games, but didn't play in 7 games. For this year, he appears to be in the team picture, number 23, but not listed on the roster or in box scores for 2009-10.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
