  • Jake Kelly

Indiana State's (Iowa-transfer), Jake Kelly is out for the year with an ACL tear.

    95% chance there a play-in team now.

Unfortunate incident for sure. Hope he's doing well with all things considered.

Maybe his knee buckled with all of the weight from the entire town of Terre Haute on top of him. If this kid didn't resemble Larry Bird, it was gonna be a disappointment with the way they were talking.

I thought Indiana State was a play-in team anyways. Evansville or Drake may have a chance to pass them up now.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

I would assume that there is no chance for him to gain an extra year by virtue of a medical reshirt / hardship?

The rule is 1/3 of the games. He played in 12 so that means ISU would have to play in 36 games for Jake to get the year back.

Now, ISU will argue that the preseason tourney should count as only 1 game, which would make it 9 games played and give him a shot at anothter year.

It's a good argument for UNC, probably not so much from ISU.

That is just bad news for ISU and Kelly. I hate to see that happen.

Wondering what their season could have been like with Kelly is about the same as wondering what WSU could have done with 2 years of a healthy Griskenas.

You sort of have to expect about one major injury per year or two (on average) out of 13 players. That just seems to be about how the numbers work.
