On another thread someone asked if TT HCPK had commented on the atmosphere at Koch Arena:

Tech coach Pat Knight praised the atmosphere in the Shockers' Koch Arena.

"If you just shut your eyes and didn't know it was Wichita State, you'd look out there and think we were playing on the road in the Big 12,'' Knight said.

I wonder if some of the attention is because Kansas (not the university kool-aid drinkers!) is a basketball state? It also helps nationally that all three D-1 schools are making noise and regularly on national television. At the end of the day, if our Shocks keep winning they'll be dancing.

That is definitely a bunch of bull like GoShockers89 said. 75% of B12 don't pack their houses all season long. It's more like playing in some ACC games Pat! Of course you wouldn't know that PK because you do the annual B12 play nobody non-conference tactic to try and back-door into the tournament.

Every single WSU student gets tickets as part of fees, yet a very small student section is rarely filled by students. You still have the nerve to bag on big 12 fan bases! Just because you are in the largest city in the state, with tons of "blue hairs" in seats, does not make you special. Go to a big 12 game with more students than blue hairs, you will see the difference.
