Now let's just keep playing well and EARN that spot in the Top 25 by season's end!

        Some things I really liked:

“We dug a monstrous hole,” Saul Phillips said, who felt the environment was the most hostile he can remember in his three years as NDSU’s head coach. “The floor is shaking, the whole place was nuts. We don’t have many guys who have played in an environment like that.”
A nice compliment for Shocker fans.

“That’s a top 25 team we just played and I say that with a lot of confidence,” Phillips said.
A nice compliment for our beloved Shocks.

The scary thing is that this wasn't a particularly load crowd by our standards, even during the opening run where we held them scoreless.

I have to give a lot of credit to their coach. He knows what he is doing. They lost a lot off of last year's team, but they play fundamentally sound ball. They hustle, box out, play good post defense. That program is going to be solid as long as he is there.

Why would he say that? They played at USC last year and KU in the NCAA's. At Florida and Cal the year before. Wouldn't those BS schools be louder than us?

USC is not a big time atmosphere, they probably only fill it half way. Florida the same way, they were not good last year therefore the crowd is not the same. Same way with cal.

Wichita State is SO fortunate to have awesome fans like us who would pack the roundhouse in a 17-17 season. Alot of other schools fan's would not do that

Example 1: USC only had 4500 people in attendance to watch the Men's Basketball team destroy Number 12 Tennessee 77-55. Pathetic....
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Well duh...they should have scheduled a big name BCS school rather then a top 25 New Mexico team...errrr...wait, wrong thread...

That's the 3rd acct that I've read that either a fan or coach would compliment us. I appreciate the compliment, think it is classy for them to give them & hope they are right.

Everyone in that building chcked out on Christmas break early last night except the opposing team.

Texas Tech visiting here & ND State are what is right about college basketball.

Did Tech's coach have any good words about the crowd after their game against us?

While I appreciate the coach's words about our crowd and team:

a.) Our crowd was ok, but was well below average in terms of "noise".

b.) We did not play like a Top 25 team last night. In fact, I thought that was one of our weakest games of the year. I guess that's a pretty big compliment then?

Generally yes. Roughly, he said it's environments like these that prepare us for Big 12 play.. etc, etc.

Didn't Coach Jans say that one of the Tech staff (maybe one of the trainers?) commented to him that it was the most intense environment he had been in or something along those lines?

I do think I remember hearing that.
