Should WSU drop the "STATE" from its official name

As long as we are making lists, let's note these teams that simply have the city name for their school:

Boston U.
Albany
Green Bay
Detroit
Seattle
Akron
Buffalo
Toledo
Chattanooga
Denver
New Orleans
Portland
San Diego
San Francisco

Most of the members of this list are named after large cities, but I don't think that they garner any more national attention than Wichita State does.

The success of your program, not the name of it, will ultimately determine the perception, in my opinion.
