Not this year...each home team has a date scheduled with their facilities for this year...not gonna change.

I think I have heard they're looking to do some shuffling for future years?

I hope that shuffling involves GETTING OUT OF IT!

If VCU remains a good rpi team I would think that would be the team to play since we do recruit the east (carolinas) more than the upper mid west. More exposure in an area that HCGM would consider his "roots".

Butler would make for great TV, VCU for the aforementioned recruiting ties and of course I would never turn down the chance to play the good gentlemen of George Mason...

VCU has been a really high quality program for a number of years now, and while their RPI will undoubtedly drop some as the season goes on, I would be surprised if they didn't still have a very good RPI late in the season.

Combine that with what you note about recruiting and I would be very happy if we could have a game with them.

I know many Valley fans aren't all that hyped for BB, but in all actuality, it's been pretty good to WSU.

I think you can make the case that by beating Cleveland State last year afforded the Shocks the chance at postseason play. Getting to .500 was an important step.

It's not BB fault that Cleveland St. isn't the same team this year, as they were last year.

There are other examples of why BB has been a plus for the Shocks.

I've had mixed feelings on this issue, but vbird does make a good point.

If you wanna get a good opponent in this event (and there are a decent amount in this thing), then you have to be good yourself. Can't expect to get handed a Butler when you're 12-12 and in a race for 5th in the conference.

If we're winning, we'll get what we deserve.. and what we want..

Exactly. The system isn't perfect, but it still can create a match-up that is favorable to the rpi.

It does create a match up that would not have normally happened. Sometimes good sometimes not so good. It would also seem to eliminate a paid visit from a lesser rpi school.

Are the matchups announced at the end of the month?

If we can continue to take care of business, things are setting up nicely for a matchup with Butler.

Siena is ahead of us in the RPI, but are now playing teams with RPIs in the 180-221 range, except for their next game at #114 Fairfield. That would a prime "trap" game for them. W. Carolina is lurking around, too.

If we win our next five I think it's almost a sure thing. A loss to anyone except UNI and our chances fall to less than 50/50, IMO.

Ok, on further inspection, we are also competing with William & Mary and Old Dominion. But I still think 5-0 over the next five puts us in the top spot for visiting teams.

Assuming UNI is ahead of us, wouldn't UNI play against Butler?
