Not to jump the gun, but I was just drinking..........................
Fixed.

Well, it was a long day and a long game...
And I don't know what makes the 2006 team untouchable to comparison at this point in time. Throwing out what they did and looking strictly at the team, I think the only thing the 2006 team had over this year's team is senior leadership. Without Miller, the weaknesses were exposed the following season.
Call me crazy, Johnny
This year's team is better. Not saying they will do what the team did in 2006, just saying that this team's foundation seems to be more solid.

Ask this question again in March or April and I'll let you know.

There is no question that this team is playing exceptionally well at this point in time. But eleven games does not a season make.
Any comparison of this team with the 2006 team prior to even qualifying for, let alone advancing past the first round of the NCAA tournament, is vastly premature.
I, like you, certainly have high hopes that our present team even achieves greater success than our boys did in 2006. But, there are a lot of obstacles along the way. The 2006 team overcame those obstacles and when this year's team does likewise, then we can truly compare the two teams.
The rise and subsequent fall of the 2006 team was as much about chemistry as their ability. Time will tell with this team and its core components but it's looking good so far.
A wise man once said "it a great time to be a Shocker".
2006--a Season to remember. We are not there yet with this team but I like the foundation Coach Marshall is building. Sweet 16's appearences are like pulling hens teeth. Thus, we will get there in due time and can talk turkey in the forseeable future.
In 2006, we were hitting on all cylinders. 4 Valley teams in the Dance and the announcers were singing the blues!!! "4 is too many, 4 is too many, they exclaimed!!! However, Bradley beats KU and also makes the Sweet 16 along with the Shocks. Oooopsee--eat some crow boys!!! We took Seton Hall by storm and beat a very solid Tennessee team while good teams like KU and Oklahoma were home watching us on the tube. Remember SO raining 3's in the Seton Hall win, Matty B. draining 3 and 4 point shots at the end of the game with Creighton game and we win the Valley, Miller Time winning the MVP of the Valley, and Miller's 30 point showing versus SIU in our double Overtime home win, and PJ draining shots from everywhere versus Tennessee? 2006 was a banner Season to remember and some fine day--we will do something special again!!!!!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
Ask this question again in March or April and I'll let you know.
It won't be as much fun to ask the question then!!
:D
Maybe not, but it will be a heck of alot easier to answer it LOL

I don't anyone thinks, honestly, that this team is better than 05-06.
11-1 counts for something. You play to win the game. Last night was awful. It is not a trend, yet. There is nothing wrong with talking about it though either way).
