LOL .... Stop and think about what I am about to say, and see if it changes your perspective a little bit.

My brother thinks MTXE is Randy Smithson.

This game will more than likely be a valuable recruiting tool for all recruits considering WSU regardless of their sport. The WSU athletic department would be well served to either have special instructions or a couple extra camera men for tonight's game, with the sole purpose of providing enough quality film to compose a first class "video introduction" to all our potential recruits.

WSU should invest heavily in promoting its greatest assets: Koch Arena and the fans that fill it. This game should showcase those assets nicely.
This indeed was a great game but it didn't approach the level of frenzy attained against FSU. I'm thinking that night will never be duplicated again. It was special for so many reasons. It was the first time a Shocker fan could really believe that an escape from the 90's decade of hell, could actually become reality. And here we are, six years later...

I found a cute little Youtube video with a sampling of the energy on that night, a night that marked a turning point for our frustrated program:

I would pay a fairly large sum of money to get a copy of that game on dvd.

Snap, your brother needs to stop sniffing glue. Randy is not that eloquent or deep.

I've been told he's the real deal and look forward to following his development. If he can continue to put up numbers like he did the other night over the next few years I think that'll say a lot. The City isn't lacking talent.

I believe he is the son of Marty Frankamp. Yes he was in attendance as they have season tickets

Not all of the above are D-I talent, but all are worth watching their development. If WSU plays well for the next one-and-a-half years, we may be able to bring in significant home grown talent. We'll see.
Very helpful...thanks wufan! How did you come up with the list? Do you simply watch lots of city league basketball...mad props if so. Do have any perspective on the potential talent in the surrounding area?

Regarding the FSU game, I agree with you.

Since 1962, I have seen most all Shocker home games. I believe the FSU game was the loudest, rowdiest and most intense from start to double overtime finish.

I agree on the noise level. Fla St. was intense throughout. The other game I remember being very loud was the Purdue game in the late 80's. I think they were top 10 at the time (maybe #2) and we lost in overtime, if I remember.

Glad the list is helpful, but I take zero credit for it. I now live in McPherson and haven't seen a City League game in 10+ years. I have zero perspective on the true talent level of the City League and I am not a talent evaluator by any stretch of the imagination.

I got all the names from a free publication called Vype I picked up in an Andover gas station. It had a very in depth CL and AVCTL preview including an article on the city league sophomores. From there I listed out those that appeared to have some level of D-I interest and or D-I hype.

Many of these kids played Biddy - including Frankamp; they are a pretty darn good bunch. It seems like a person "in the know" should possible start a "local" page of recruits - there are a bunch coming up in the next few years. IMO, we have some really good ones right in our back yard right now.
