Chants for students. brainstorming.

The purpose of this thread is similar to a thread started last week... but with a more official title.

I'm hoping that we students can brainstorm some ideas before each game and get some creative chants going.

I have done almost 0 research on the affiars of the texas tech basketball or it's players..
but i'm hoping we can find out something juicy.
some texas tech historical meltdown....
any certain player that has any criminal charges agaisnt him that we can kindly remind him of while he takes the court...
any embarrassing statements from a player or coach that we can use as bulletin board material...

ANYTHING regarding our next opponent that can be used against them in chant form, should be posted in this thread.



in regards to the Refs...:
i stole this off another shockernet thread and improvised it. i'm not sure who's quote it was.. i think downtown shocker brown was the first i'd seen use it.

from now on in the games, if the refs are poorly officiating, we can sing/chant these words:

(it works great because we can't get in any trouble and it's funnier than saying that they suck)

"If you think these refs are awesome clap you hands"
(no one clap, but consider the beat associated with the song)


"If you think these refs are awesome clap you hands"
(no one clap, but consider the beat associated with the song)

"If you think these refs are awesome then they (really) must be awesome, if you think these refs are awesome clap your hands."

simple as that... maybe add in some loud noise at the end or some ridiculous cheering for our shockers.. idk.

I agree with this, but this thread wouldn't be embarrassing if we actually had some decent stuff. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot of dirt to pick up with Texas Tech.

i have to agree, our student section is WEAK/overplayed/boring/etc.

being a student myself, i think its hard to get any chants going because noone is on the same page. I like the pep rally idea to go over some diff chants so the whole student section or crowd could reallly get into the opponents, refs, etc.

I go to alabama football games and before each game the lead yell leader and cheerleader get on the PA system and go over each individual chant and have the crowd rehearse it. seems to work pretty well....
