Lutz, in classic form asks Pat Knight about Mike Singletary and what having a famous football coach father brings to his BB game...

    Nice journalism there Bob!

Pat has done a very nice job at Texas Tech but he still is probably living in the shadow of his Famous dad (even Bob got that one right).

They talked a little about Bobby slamming John Calipari during a speech he made last night at an Indiana Hall of Fame fund raiser.

Last night in Indianapolis, Indiana, speaking before an Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame fundraiser, Bobby Knight wondered aloud why John Calipari was still coaching. Knight said, "We've gotten into this situation where integrity is really lacking and that's why I'm glad I'm not coaching," he said. "You see we've got a coach at Kentucky who put two schools on probation and he's still coaching. I really don't understand that."

As Pat said, I think he has earned the right to speak his opinion.

I appreciate Bob Knight's comments on TV. I learn a lot about basketball from listening to him. Not so for most commentators.

In Bob's defense a caller later mentioned that the mis-information had been thrown out by our own HCGM the day before in his interview. I can see how you would take him at his spoken word rather than look it up if it was the average caller. It was still pretty funny to imagine bl squirming about the remark.

I enjoyed listening to Bob Knight do the commentating during a UConn LSU game earlier this year...instead of "what a great offensive rebound," every comment was "he's going to run laps for not blocking out his man on the free-throw line." Very entertaining and informative if you ask me.
