    Rushing the Court

I'm another who believes rushing the court for Texas Tech would be lowering ourselves. I like the thought of rushing the court when we win the Valley regular season championship and then certainly, I'll be in the middle of the court when we win Arch Madness in St Louis. I'm for rushing the court when the team has accomplished something special, not just for beating a particular team.

I don't wish to show any compitition so much respect as to rush the court just because we beat them. Well, maybe beating KU to advance to the Final Four. :D

Any chance we can turn our focus to actual game itself and stop talking about how we may or may not celebrate after a POSSIBLE win?

      Enjoy the game folks.

I agree. This is going to be a tough game. Let's not jinx ourselves by putting the cart before the horse.

Yea maybe saying someone sucks really does nothing, maybe rushing the court againt the 16th ranked team in the country wouldn't be as cool to you guys as it would to me. That's fine if you think that, I am not saying your wrong. But to come after me and insult my intelligence, saying I am embarrassing and an idiot student, that's just wrong. Maybe you guys should be the ones who grow up
          Hizzshock,

If we win by buzzer-beater you have my support to rush the court with your buddies. Just make sure you don't do it by yourself or you will probably get in trouble. :) Get a good group with you and the rest will follow. You only live once. Those on here that are trying to make you do the "dignified" thing have apparently forgotten what it means to be an 18 year old college student. Some students go their whole college careers without having a reason (or opportunity) to rush the court. I'm thinking we aren't going to have very many more ranked BCS teams come into our building in the near future.

Remember, only rush if it is a dramatic win. If we win easily there is no need to show them we care.
 Some of the old dudes need to chill.

However, it's got to be spur of the moment. It always come across in a bad light if these things are planned. If the student section is about to spill over from the excitement, the cops will move.

I'm with you, hizz. This is a big game, and we haven't had one like this at CKA in a long time. Ranked teams don't come our way often, so making the atmosphere incredibly awesome during the game is much more important to me than what happens when we win.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Did anyone see the end of TT vs Washington. TT's crowd rushed the court. They had to clear it off when it was determined that the "winning" shot was after the buzzer and the game was sent to overtime. Then the court was rushed again when TT actually won the game.

So yes, there are other excited fans that rush the court when beating a ranked team. Beating TT would...WILL be a very big win for us. Probably the biggest in the HCGM era. I am expecting that there will be bigger wins down the road. If you are so excited when we win that you want to rush the court...just do it...just don't do it by yourself.

BTW Hizz, sometimes it's better to ask forgiveness than permission. You will have a better understanding of that when you are married.

If it's spur of the moment, someone is going to get hurt going over the railings.

The arena just isn't setup for that.

If you're the guy with the yellow Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses...GRADTUATE ALREADY!!! Just kidding.....ok, I'm not.

But seriously, I'd like to see the student section start being creative again. Do some research on our opponent and use that against them...like the good old days. Saying "balls" and "suck" all game isn't exactly creative or good for the kids to hear. I'm not going to tell you when you can or can't rush the court. It should never be planned in advance...that just seems second rate to me. If it feels right, do it.

If you have to ask you shouldn't do it.

I agree...court rushes are reserved for top ten wins conferece championships and last second buzzer beaters. Anything else is Bush League.

But he did state to me that we need to be more creative... haha :wsu_posters:
What did he say about bringing back football? :D

Regarding your court rushing. Do what you feel. While I personally don't think beating TT is a court-rushing moment, who knows.... Maybe a Shocker hitting a full court shot at the buzzer to win by 1 might be worth a court-rushing and a tazer plug by the WPD.

Rushing the court seems out of place for beating TT. But on the other hand rushing the court is an emotional outburst that is determined by the moment. When the moment arrives one knows what to do.

I might add that it is also dangerous and I would not take part in one because of that. I'm old also.

                                Just a slight tangential deviation.

Didn't Vanderbilt storm the floor, when they defeated the Shockers in the 2005 N.I.T.? The Shockers lost by the score of 65-63.

No, I am not aware that this post has anything to do with the topic, but it might.
