  • my first game at the chuck this year....

    ...and GREAT aseats, courtesy of a friend....a few thoughts...

    * great crowd....very into it!
    * murry ...THE REAL DEAL, on both ends....
    * we DO foul a whole lot....some were thoughtless, especially on the bigs...
    * kyles intrigues me...the kid is oozing with skill, but he maybe hasn't hit his stride yet...
    * key of the year...Gabe Blair.Love this kid!

    Fun night....MANY positives!

    Gabe Blair IS the beast from the east. After the last few transferes taking a long time to adjust or not adjusting, Gabe is a breath of fresh air. I was like alot of the faithful followers in taking a wait and see attitude but Gabe can play the game. Have I told you how much I LIKE THIS TEAM.

      The Shockers foul way too much. I understand that fouls go hand in hand with aggressive defense. Aggressive, smart defense is better.

      At least 3 of Aaron's fouls last night were in the dumb category. It particularly hurt because he gave #15 the most trouble, when Aaron was defending. Aaron's long arms discouraged 3 ball attempts.

      Sooner or later, the excessive fouls will get the Shockers beat.

      Both UNI and CU are very good about staying out of foul trouble.

        I agree there were some dumb fouls. Particularly on closeouts of the three point shooters. If you are going to play zone, those are going to be more open than usual and we'll just have to hope for a miss.

        All things considered, I can think of 2 fouls on Stutz that were horrible calls.
        You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

        .....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.
