  • Don't give CU a pass to the clubhouse!

The birds choked again today. If the valley allows them to sneak through Valley play and they end up being one of the top three teams in conference standings at year end, it will make everyone else look bad because of the poor nonconference showing they've had to this point.

Note to all Valley teams....dogpile Creighton!

Is the dogpile you are referring to the kind that kind of gives off a wisp of steam in the newly fallen snow?

Well, I don't care if they are # 3, as long as WSU is undefeated at the top.

As of right now, the only team in the league with a losing record. Dana must be on the hot seat?

Your kidding, I assume. DA will NOT be on the hot seat in Omaha unless the Jays wind up in the bottom half of the Valley for 2 or 3 years running. They will stay with him no matter what 'cause he's the "Dean of the Valley and they love him." If after 3 years of bottom feeding, then DA may have some troubles. I don't see that happening, but stranger things have.

Shox21: I think Capitol Shock is throwing a little sarcasm at the pre-season prediction that HCGM would be on the "hot seat" 'this year if the Shox didn't produce.

"One and done" Altman is as good as CU can get and the best they've ever had. He'll be there until he's picking up T's for whacking refs with his cane.

I'm sorry, but you're one of the worst posters I've ever seen at reading sarcasm.

Aargh is right. sCUm has settled with mediocrity. Diana is slipping though. They haven't made the tourney in 2 years and with the look of things it could be 3.

                    ... No really, deuces.

Well, there is no way they get an at-large. I think it's safe to say that is out the window right now. So they're left with winning the tournament, and I hope they don't have to play WSU, or else that will be foiled too.

Oh, the karma. I love it!

How smart are UNI fans? How about this example:

In the end, only UNI will have had a good non-conference resume among the MVC teams if BC, Iowa State, and Siena end up as NCAA Tournament teams or at least on the bubble. Also Denver could end up being a nice win if they are a 22+ win team in the Sun Belt.

I guess a WSU win over a Top 25 team (Texas Tech) would not qualify as a good win and, if the Shocks win the rest of the OOC games, WSU's OOC resume would not qualify as " a good non-conference resume " according to this UNI poster.

                        What a joke!!
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Well they are a little full of themselves. There was this little tidbit

So will our wins against BC, Siena, and ISU be enough for an at large birth if we finish in the top 3 of the MVC?

A close 3rd place and a win or 2 in the MVC tourney and probably.
If UNI finishes 3rd in the MVC they are not getting at-large.

                            From OWH:

“Scoring points today wasn’t our problem,’’ Altman said. “The turnovers hurt us at times, the missed free throws and a bad technical. At least he could have given me a real one.’’
                            *************
I think a small censure oughtta be in order for this small criticism of the officials. But I don't want to pile on, the fact that they lost is good enough for me.

It would be different if CU had been predicted to finish near the bottom. But to be picked by so many to finish in the top two or three and be the only team in the conference with a losing record?

I can't believe Oma Hell isn't in complete meltdown after this loss.
