I agree, plus i believe as he gets more into the flow of actual game basketball, after missing a year and learning a new system (even with his red shirt year) he will get better. He is really fun to watch.

      Gabe is a stud.

He needs to be starting now.

Nah, I think he is much more valuable coming off the bench. He is able to give the team a boost of energy and I'm not sure it would be the same with him starting. Plus, who would you sit to start him?

I would not be opposed to starting Blair over Ellis, but I think Aaron's high energy, in your face defense wares out and frustrates the opposing forward. Then, when he thinks he's going to get a second to catch his breathe and start doing something on the offensive end - BANG!!! It's a high energy, physical, rebounding, scorer off the bench. In boxing terms, Aaron Ellis works the body and Gabe Blair is the sucker punch.

You know, we're not KU or UNC and that's just fine by me, but MVC schools are not supposed to have a 6-8, 230 lb athletic PF, 7-0 skilled center, and 6-4 freak athlete SG comming off the bench. That's just not the way it works. But THAT is why this team has a chance to be special! There are teams out there that can flat out athlete our starting 5, but our bench matches up with anyone in the country that I've seen.

I agree. I think Aaron needs to be in the starting lineup for his length and defensive ability.

I think Blair and Kyle Wilson are/were the two best true PFs we have had in at least the last 15 years...to bad Kyle had to play center his last year

I would have thought maybe Bart Westgeest and Mahnord Martina were the best!

The truth is that like Kyle Wilson, so many of our good PFs had to play center for us over the last 20 years. Off the top of my head: Durley, Wilson, Troy Mack, Darren Williams, Jamie Arnold, and John Smith.

Arnold had the most talent. He probably should have been a 3.

It's working! Why fixes it?
Unless GB asks the coach to let him start. But I don't think he would. 8)

Kyle Wilson and power forward are two subjects I do not associate easily. To me Kyle Wilson will always be a big shooting guard. He was forced to play out of position at times, and while he developed some nice fade-aways, he never got really comfortable working down around the paint. He simply couldn't handle the banging and crashing.

There might not be a dry eye in the house when Mr. Blair graduates. We need to recruit these type of players out of High School! :)
