Is our WEAK schedule a sign of good basketball administration or bad basketball administration?

Can't play a game you can't schedule... TCU and Tech will improve the picture quite a bit- even UMKC is an improvement over the last 3 games.

We've done what we've had to do and while I'm not fond of this many weak teams, I actually like the way the next couple of weeks shape up.

UMKC is probably slightly better than any team we faced this week (Cleveland State is MIGHT be an exception in a normal year but not this year) but only SLIGHTLY.

TCU is slightly better than UMKC--maybe even significantly better.

Texas Tech is probably slightly better than TCU (only speculating there).

So, you see--each team is an incremental increase, which will be good. I don't like going from Alcorn State-ish teams then two nights later Texas Tech.

Easy to manhandle us when we didn't have Hannah. That game is a loss and nothing more. To try to put any level of judgment behind it is silly because you aren't judging a complete team.

I might be slightly out of line, but the schedule is neither weak schedule nor weak administration. It is the sad fact that nobody wants to play in Koch Arena. If it would make you idiots happy that want a tougher schedule, then maybe WSU should just schedule all away games. I am sure some of you KSU trolls would appreciate that. Umm, Umm, Er, Uh Fort Hays State.

I will vouch for Lawmaker on this. He is undoubtedly a Shocker fan.

I agree. Having Clevin wouldn't have guaranteed a win, but it would've been much closer, and it wasn't even a blowout by any stretch of the imagination without Clevin.

I am also ready for us to play some tougher competition now, but it is what it is and good teams do what must be done regardless of who they play.

On the flipside however, at least we haven't performed like last year. Losing to teams like UMKC pissed me off to high heaven last year so at least we are taking care of business. The MO Valley is not going to be the 7th or 8th best confernce this year so upcoming games like Tech and TCU are very, very important.

We could very well be a 24 win team this year and not make the dance because our schedule is so weak.
Uh, I don't think you'll have one person disagreeing with you. I don't think anyone in here is defending our schedule right now. To be fair, we at least put some challenges on the schedule. We didn't do an Illinois State or anything.

I think the main reason you're seeing such responses in the thread is because of the person who started it and the manner from which they sent their message.

                    Schedule

Some of you seem to have lost sight of the fact that Texas Tech just beat #10 ranked Washington in OT on 2 nights ago.

Also, regarding the schedule, IMHO, it's all about developing a bench. WSU still has a realatively young team. However, I am also ready to see some better teams in here, too!

The last 2 years we've played PLENTY of lousy teams. We had a combined 3 20+ wins in those 2 years. So far, we have 4 this season.

I'm not saying we're in line for a 1 or 2 seed, or even that we aren't going to play in the play in game in March. BUT, this team is better, a LOT better than the previous 2, is building quality depth at every position that will make us stronger at the end of games and at the end of the year and has a lot of options to turn to when things get tough.

Complain about the schedule all you want (I certainly have) but it doesn't change that this is a quality team that has it's sights on the big prizes.

Okay Jamin it's late and i have been drinking so i need help on this. It's is usually it is. But in this case "it" is referring to the team. If you said the team's sights it would be correct right? So why isn't "it's" correct in this case?

Now I will put down the bottle and go back to reading... ;-)

You're right about 'the team's' being correct, but the possessive form of 'it' is 'its' for exactly the reason you named- because "it's" means "it is"...

So if you said "it's sights," you would be saying "it is sights"...

All this because I wanted to good-naturedly needle the good doctor...

The Pitt game was a 5-8 point game for 35 of the 40 mins. We lost, it wasn't very close, but manhandled?...No
