  • Aaron "The Octopus" Ellis

Watching Aaron play defense last night was down right scary. He reminded me of that giant octopus on Captain Nemo.

I would be terrified if I saw him coming at me with those huge, long tenticles waving everywhere!

Fun to watch and had me laughing a couple of times in my seat as it's just about the most imposing sight I could imagine as a basketball player.

If you think Aaron's arms are intimidating what about his teammates'?

            Kenny M. (6'4" with 7' wingspan)
            Murry
Kyles (he has to have monster arms to finish like he does)
            Durley
            Blair
Stutz (he is 7 foot you know..)

Perhaps the only guys that might not be able to reach their toes without bending at the waist would be Hatch and Hannah.

I'm predicting some crazy steal statistics this year out of our Shockers. Next year it might be even worse -for the opponents that is. Strike That! It WILL be even worse (think E.O.).

There will definately be alot of steals with some very nice fast breaks and maybe a few dunks....;)

I heard Coach call him "Edward Scissorhands"

Aaron at the top of the full court press is right down intimidating!

Last night he stole the ball with a one man press. His teammates have already retreated back when he trapped the guy and stole the ball.

Yeah--I heard 'praying mantas' or something long those lines. Poor guy has been compared to everything but 'daddy long legs'

All I know is that he's gettin' after it on defense!

                    Go Aaron!

One of the things that I saw so often last year was whenever Aaron was in a game, good things defensively started to happen.

Let's just hope that he can continue his current level of play throughout the rest of the year.

The above emoticon, with the outstretched hands, is so apropos for anything associated with Ellis.
