I don't have any details on this situation.

But I will say that if someone was getting information that is only available from a subscription-only site and republishing it without permission, that would at a minimum be a violation of the site's Terms of Service (at least, I can't imagine a subscription content provider not having that in it's ToS). I suppose it could additionally be a violation of copyright.

I will clarify that I had no idea what the situation was but did know that the Hack up North gets upset over the most trivial things. I figured it was just about something like we usually see on our recruiting board. A lot of the players have articles written on them and it's easy to find a nugget or two but it's usually kept basic with a link to the article.

And for the record, I think Trop has broken some CU news before Hack did. That I find hilarious.

It is a fact that many scoop TropicalShox for recruiting info about the Valley, and ZERO (Including Mr. HighandMightyontheHilltop) give credit for where the info came from.

Besides, the information was not copyrighted. TropicalShox passed the manner on as a fact, which it is, which cannot be copyrighted. Those young men are visiting Creighton. A quick message to a contact on Twitter can confirm this fact.

This is simply a case of an exiled reporter trying to make a living doing something the people of the town he wants to support him didn't think he did a good job at.

Downtown I don't know if others scoop what I put out or not. You will see stuff I've put out on other MVC boards, but I send private messages to some around the Valley giving them the information.

Trop, I know you do. I'm talking as I'm going through Twitter searching for credible information, I see people with info presented in a way it almost had to come from the work you do.

That said, those that have come to the ncaabbs site to talk about the Valley mostly seemed new to the info, and the recruiting guru's impressed incredibly.

I think you should have the "Valley Recruiting Guru", but that would take away from some of the Shocker luster....

Well that happens on Twitter and is OK with me and most. If you want to get credit you should always make your tweets short enough so others can use the RT@tropicalshox (or whatever your name is). RT stands for re-tweet. I'm more concerned about just getting the info in the 140 characters.

I want my tweets passed even if a RT isn't used. The more people who read abut Valley recruiting the better.

One other thing Downtown. ONPSS occasionally sends out my stuff. He does what I do on Twitter but on a more national scale. I'm a correspondent and send him things I think he might not know.
