Future Tournaments

I may have missed a thread or two, but have there been any announcements about tournaments the Shox will be in after Maui? The only reason why I ask is a friend of mine who is a KSU grad with maybe a little bit of inside info thought WSU and KSU are going to be in a tourney together with a field that was also going to include Duke. I think Duke is going to Maui in '11 so not sure when this possible tournament is...

I'm pretty sure you're friend is referring to the 2010 CBE, which does have Duke and the Kitties in the field. Maybe this year's CBE with the Shox has him a bit confuzzled.

Yep, looks like you're right. I do recall he also mentioned Gonzaga and it looks like they are also in the field next year.

Also, speaking of the CBE, it's likely that the Shox will return to that event in the future, as that particular tourney likes to re-invite past participants. Duke, Texas, Marquette and others have previously played in the event. So a potential CBE with the Shox and Kitties could happen, but it would most likely be 2012 or later.

On the post game show last night Coach Grant said we had no other tourneys in the future. Said we would start series with Tulsa next year and are trying to work out something with LSU. Also said they are excited about playing a game with Wac conference or whatever conference we signed a deal with

I wouldn't mind going back if we didn't get the choice of facing a d-2 team.Would be really sweet if we faced KU or KSU in the championship.

I don't think we can play in the CBE again until 2013. I believe there has to be 4 years pass before entering a tournament again. There are other options out there for us in the mean time.

After we beat LSU twice with less than stellar teams they seem to be a bit hesitant about playing us the third time.

You can only play once per 4 year in anyone tournament, but there are a ton of them now. Teams can't afford not to play them with four games counting as one. With the teams agreeing appear there is a possibility we could face KSU, KU sometime in the future, I wouldn't hold my breathe esp. for KU.
