To be honest, the TV broadcasters went over this several times and made it clear that refs were wrong. They talked about the 6-0 WSU lead in fouls and, to me, seemed to criticize the officials without explicitly doing so. We were robbed (with respect to foul calls) but we were not the better team last night; we deserved to lose.

Pitt out-played us definitely. Strangely enough, I still think we could have won that game had we played our best game, which obviously we didn't.
Coulda-shoulda-woulda. It's time to move to the next challenge. Iowa won't be easy despite everyone's general lack of respect for them.
I was at the game, so I can't speak to what the TV guys said. I only posted this because the picture so accurately captured it.
Yes, Pitt was the better team last night. However, it is hard to estimate what impact a 10-2 foul deficit has in the first half, especially when most of them are BS.
WSU held their own on the boards, Blocked as many shots.
Unfortunately they couldn't take advantage of their one potential advantage they had which was WSU seemed to be a better FT shooting team. Some maybe was with the refs, but some was because WSU struggled either getting good passes inside (or weren't even looking too), or when they did some players were not strong with the ball.
On a different note, this picture illustrates the level of athlete GM has brought into the program. Check out the air under Murry and the length of his reach.
It's a whole new level of player now vs just a couple of years ago. 8)

I might add to that list of deficiencies an inability to diagnose Pitt's defense. They played that low-trap stuff over and over in the second half, and WSU kept passing right into it with no outlet. That lead to a ton of wild passes resulting in turnovers. It was hard to watch.
Oh, and so was watching a PG dribble the ball off his own man's foot...when his man was right in front of him!
Obvious to me that the Shocks missed Clev. Turnovers were definitely a problem. I am still saying Stuz should have redshirted last year. He had one solid move last night, but he is not consistent enough.
A picture is worth a thousand words. In last night's officiating twilight zone, this was called a foul:
Sad thing to me is that official has a PERFECT vantage point and could clearly see the play with no obstruction. He should be reprimanded....badly
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

HCGM brings in athletes but FHCMT got teams to play team baskeball. Gregg needs to work on his communication of the x's and o's to his players. Hatch didn't get screens to give him open three point attempts, for example.

The last 10 min we looked pretty bad. We rushed shots, allowing for easy buckets on the other end after our misses. Pull the ball out and set up plays to JT. Our guards need to take it to the bucket more and kick it out for the shot. That being said JT and TM were impressive.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
Whats everyone's thoughts on the lane violation on the 2nd shot? The announcers mentioned that Pitt's coach was asking for an explanation of who jumped early, and no official gave one. Anyone think they were trying to make up for the botched foul call on Toure?
Can't blame the game on fouls when we turn the ball over nearly 20 times in a game. But then again that can be directly related back to Clevin being out, and us not having a solid PG. KM had a few mental errors bringing the ball up, but thats expected from a true freshman.
There were definitely moments in that game to give us all hope and a good outlook for the season and the program. Watch Pitt be a contender in the Big East when they get their roster healthy. And if not this year they will be a solid contender next year.

The shooting actually breaks down to:
Offensive Shooting: -4 pts
Defense against opponent shots: -2 pts
