Here is the formula used to get the Prouty Ratings.

Prouty Rating = [Offensive Efficiency + Total Offense + Possessions Gained + Win Rating] / 4

Offensive Efficiency = TP / (FGA*2 + FTA)
Total Offense = (TP + A*2 - TO) / Player MIN
Possessions Gained = (REB + S + BLK/2 - PF) / Player MIN
Win Rating = Player MIN / (Team MIN / 5) * (Wins / Game #)

I still think the Prouty Rating should not include the Team Winning Pct. for the first few games. Obviously, a 1.000 or .000% will have a big effect on the player and team result. Without the Team Winning Pct. early on, it would give a more accurate assessment.

Here are the game 1 calculations of Plus/Minus scores. A player gets a +1 for each point WSU scores while he is on the floor; a -1 for each point the opponent scores while he is on the floor. The net +/- score is converted to a "per 40 minute" equivalent for easy comparison. The hilighted scores are those that equal or exceed the team score.

The second section shows the +/- scores for each combination of players that had more than two minutes of playing time together in the game. There were 19 different combinations used in the game.

The final section lists the +/- scores for all combinations that have averaged at least one minute for all games during the season.

The plus/minus score does not reflect player statistice; but in effect it gives recognition for hustle, setting picks, playing sound defense, etc.

I really like the comparison of these two ratings.

In the +/-, Ellis gets more credit for the overall game we all know he had, but Kyles' Prouty gives him more credit when possibly his teammate combinations weren't as strong.

From those numbers, albeit a small sample size, it would appear that Manigault, Blair, Kyles and Stutz are our defensive weak points. Seeing the cumulative numbers after a couple more games would tell us more. I just don't think that Kyles fits in that group.
