        Wasn't a re-broadcast.

Most of it we've heard over the past few days in regards to Newman...etc.

        - Farleigh Dickinson's head coach is in his first year and was coaching high school ball last year. He has never coached Div 1. They are actually trying to get some film on his high school teams so they can figure out what kind of system he brings. I say we give him a "nice" welcome into Div 1....;)

        - Clevin COULD have played against Newman. They just elected not to so they could start to build some depth...especially since we'll need it while he is out.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Seems from that quote that some type of suspension is almost a foregone conclusion. Isn't that like the Mr. Baseball movie where the manager pulls the centerfielder for a missed play by the right fielder? The NCAA sucks it.

I heard from somebody who heard from somebody ... that they held him out as a precaution. I'm not sure where this idea of a suspension came from. Could someone give me the background on this suspension talk?
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

That's right, without knowing when the 'error' occured, at what time frame, it is hard to say whether there will be a suspension, and for how long.

It just might be a corrective procedure for an oversight and that's all.

The rumor is that Hannah will be out 3 games. The rumor cites 10% of the games he played last year, which is also a rumor, since the time frame for the violation has not been disclosed.

One thing that was disclosed is that none of last year's wins will have to be forfeited. That's a pretty strong indication that the offense happened last year, which provides a basis for the rumor.

There have been no rumors about whether there is an appeal process for any potential suspension, so there's a lot that isn't known, and won't be known until WSU announces the NCAA's decision.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

“We’re hoping for the best,” Marshall said. “There could possibly be several games missed, but no more than that.”
There ya go....need anything more than that????

Doesn't several mean anywhere from 3-100?

Kentucky players: Wall, Sidney facing eligibility issues.

                      From an article on ESPN.com
SEC Commissioner Mike Slive confirmed to ESPN.com that there are eligibility issues regarding both Kentucky top recruit John Wall and Mississippi State's top freshman Renardo Sidney.

This is kind of related, the infractions may be different, but the 3 game suspension mentioned by HCGM might be an indicator of the penalty.

"NCAA rule also stipulates that an athlete can be withheld from at least 10 percent of a team's games as part of the punishment."

Except that Clevin's issue seems to be substantially different.

His problem as best we have heard, is rooted in paperwork errors.

Wall's issue stem from him getting benefits from an agent, which he absolutely needs to be held responsible for imho. If it turns out Clevin took benefits from a guy like this as he traveled looking for a school, you won't hear a word from me as to the punishment.

This cracks me up from the article:

Before Thursday's reports questioning Wall's eligibility, Calipari had said that coaches are responsible for what goes on in their programs, but that it's difficult to control those outside of the programs.

He stressed during Kentucky's media day last week that the Wildcats' program will be run the right way.

"We will be a program rooted in integrity and run with class," he said.

I guess there's always room for a first time coach Cal.
