I've been in agreement on that. But I also thought that IF Ellis can show he can be a factor that they could lead to a RS for Hamilton. It's sounded as if Ellis has been playing well and may even start.

I also thought Williams would be the guard to RS but it sounds as if they believe he can contribute now and has a very good feel for the game. At the same time Richardson is a shooter and you can never have too many of those. But if one of them RS I'd guess it'll be Richardson

I get the feeling that HCGM's stance on his starting lineup is being used as much for motivational reasons as it is for any practical game application or strategy reasons.

Everybody will see plenty of PT and once the games start there is a good chance that PT will vary among players from game to game depending on matchups, who has the hot hand and, of course, foul trouble.

Being able to go 9 or 10 deep would be nice and being able to redshirt a couple of kids is a positive also IMHO. Sure wished we had been in a position to redshirt Garrett.

Looking forward to tomorrow night. :goshocks:

I agree… and it really doesn’t matter who starts tomorrow night since an exhibition game doesn’t end any consecutive starting streaks, etc., i.e., TM.

Murray, Hatch, and Kyles are likely to average 25-30 mpg this year regardless of who starts. Murry will not be on the bench at the end of a close game.

Ellis is the only big getting much public praise and I think he will start a majority of games this year at the PF. I would not be suprised to see Durley and Stutz start together with Ellis/Blair off the bench for Stutz and JTD moving to center.

The real dilema IS back-up PG and how quickly KM/DW can become a factor for 5-10 minutes a game. I like the idea of red-shirting DW, but I think we need 3 true PGs this year.

Not that it will set in stone but the competition there will only make the two of them better. I won't be surprised to see Ellis start on saturday either. I'd love to see that Stutz has improved to the point to start over Durley but I'm guessing he's not quite there yet. Would love to be surprised.

If Marshall is comfortable with out outside shooting I could see Richardson redshirting. Hamilton makes a lot of sense to RS right now with a full front court and Ellis playing well. Hopefully Williams and Manigault can at least team up to be an effective backup this year.
I agree with this 100%. From the way Kyles played at Shocker Madness and from other early reports I think he MAY be pushing Murry for the starting spot. It'll be interesting to see. I bet we see some crazy lineups at times tomorrow.

Depending on the situation and if Kyles has truely improved as much as we hope I could see Murry at the 1, Kyles at the 2 and Hatch at the 3 at times this year also.

Well Manigualt and Williams are our PG's of the future, so I am sure that HCGM wants them to get some playing time this season. I think Williams is pretty good in his own right, didn't he average over 16 points last year.

I don't remember his assist average. But I seem to recall that Williams outshined another player on his team that was more highly praised than
                Williams.

I want to see him on the court.

I don't know how you don't start Kyles and Murry. Kyles is too athletic and Murry is the iceman,
I like Kyles' ice more than Murry's ice.

Imagine a 3 on 1 fastbreak with Toure, DK and KM. Would a dunk be pretty much expected?

For 2010 I like the fast break five of Manigault, Murry, Kyles, Ellis and Orukpe. That is a long, strong, and fast line-up.

Im with Calfan. Murry is one of the 3 starters and Marshall will not go the way of Thompson and Randy and bench his best player or else he will eventually go the way of Thompson and Randy.

He could easily do it to send a message for an exhibition game. And I have a feeling Murry isn't the best player on this years team.

Haven't seen Williams shoot the ball but I wonder if Mannigault's outside shot and free throw shooting is suspect and therefore, Williams may be valuable playing certain roles. Something to keep an eye out for.

I went and looked it up from the recruiting thread:

                                Demetric's Senior year stats:

                                48.0 FG%
                                88.0 FT%
                                3.3 Rebounds PG
                                3.9 Assists PG
                                1.4 Steals PG
                                16.4 Total Points per game

Everything I read about him indicating he scored between 11 and 20 points every game, which means he is pretty consistent. I love the 88% for free throw shooting as we all know we need to improve in that area

His stats were better than Elijah Johnsons, a teammate in Las Vegas, and KU recruit.
