I noticed that Tony Freeman, the runaway POY in the Valley and future NBA HoF entry, had 6 pts. in 22 minutes.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

            Eglseder didn't play for UNI.

Evansville's big men had nice stats:

6-5 Freshman Colt Ryan had 16 and 7 in 25 minutes

6-10 Junior Pieter van Tongeren had 7 and 3 in 12 minutes

6-10 Sophomore Transfer Bryan Bouchie had 16 and 8 in 25 minutes

6-7 sophomore James Haarsma averaged 6 and 4 as a freshman but did not play in the exhibition.

"When SIU needed an inside bucket, it looked to 6-foot-11 sophomore Nick Evans and 6-foot-9, 290-pound freshman Gene Teague. Evans scored 11 points, including a pair of dunks, and Teague bulldozed his way for six points and a team-high nine rebounds."

"One Saluki who did not play was junior forward Carlton Fay, who was the team's second-leading scorer a year ago. Lowery said it was a disciplinary matter, but that he looks forward to Fay's return."

Dillard and Crowder both had nice games as well.

If Evansville can somehow be a fairly decent team Colt Ryan has a shot at Freshman of the Year for the MVC. He can knock them down. There are probably others who will have better careers but he will get the most opportunity this year.

Carlton Fay didn't play for SIU....disciplinary reasons.

Haarsma is out with an injury (I don't remember how long but not just last night).

SIU's Booker didn't look good. Perhaps freshman Gene Teague will get the starting spot soon. Except for Dillard, so much for last year's great recruiting class.

Yeah I guess according to the SIU message board Fay got a "drinking ticket..." a few days before his 21st b-day.

If you played for SIU, you'd probably need to drink too. ;-)

(Don't they have "killer deer" at SIU? Maybe this drives the "students" to drink.)
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.
