Another Jayhawk fan giving our city a bad rep. If KU is so much better than us then why don't they come play us? After all, a KU win is just a given?

I know this topic has been beat to death...I was just surprised to see the lead off thread from Wichita mentioning KU and WSU.

I think this is going to be the season of the mid majors. I just hope that Butler, Sienna, Xavier, Gonzaga and all of the other quality mid majors knock BCS teams out of the tournament running and not each other.

I am from Wichita, and am a Kansas fan, but I am aware of Wichita State and follow them to some extent. It is very hard to follow them, because they play in such an abismal league and quite boring if you ask anyone. If these mid-majors were so good they should be winning thier conference by landslides every year. Memphis was one of those who ran the table, and Gonzaga maybe up there?

The true question I ask on a national level.....when was the last time a Mid-Major won the NCAA tournament? They all flame out in the Elite 8 after beating mediocre BCS conference teams.

Your argument will be...well Bradley beat Kansas in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament. Well no one is perfect and it was a devistating loss that Kansas fans took. The other part to the story is, how come you can rag on a team who is always at the top, but if Kansas rags on Bradley its not a big deal. That is the point. Where is Bradley now? Kansas continues to be up there, and that same group of players who lost to Bradley, then won the National title in 2008. These mid majors are just what they are......they are story lines for the year....and they always come to an end.

I hate how these teams get a free pass when they lose, but if the beat a Major school, the major school never hears the end of it. Why is that? It is like those decades of losing for those mid majors gets erased for beating a major school once.

Anyway, enjoy this upcoming season...and mid major fans....dont bother posting trash talking.....because I wont be answering.

One of my friends at KU came down yesterday... He said he meant to bring one of those blue joe college shirts that read "Wichita, KS Home of We suck university.".. I shut him down pretty easy by saying "They wouldn't make that shirt if they didn't see WSU as a threat." AND "They proudly print shirts claiming WSU sucks, yet they refuse to play us in basketball. Doesn't add up."

The point i'm trying to make is, why do KU and their fans seemingly care about WSU so much? I mean, the last I checked there are shirts in the WSU student union that make fun of the school NOT having football... It's strange WSU proudly makes fun of themselves, joe college proudly makes fun of other KU rivals. Then you get KU fans living in wichita starting threads like this.. 2 words buddy. PLAY US.

It's not worth answering, but it's worth the time to write an entire post on how the mid-majors suck for the most part.

Well, moron, don't you think that their is quite a disparity in the playing field? I mean, yeah, it is quite an accomplishment to win a national title when you have to sort through all those blue chip prospects for the 3 or 4 that will best suit your program. And then have to mold those scrubs that you find in the finest facilities money can buy, and with the best coaches and training staffs in the country. And then have dumb, ignorant people buy all your gear and generate millions in revenue for your program because they want to be 'in' with the majority of people in their region. Not because they are true fans, but it's just the cool thing to be.

It does suck that these lowly mid-majors ruin your day when they bounce your team every now and then, and piss in your punch-bowl. If they were so good, how come they don't do it every year?

Jesus, the ignorance of KU fans never ceases to amaze me.

Personally, I would rather root for a loser 9 out of 10 years, as long as in the 10th year, we have a special season that means more to me as a fan, than 10 NC's and be a jack-ass KU fan.
