Like the Shocks for 3rd. Good overall preview. Who wrote it? Anyone here?

Decent write-up but there is no way the Valley will get 3 teams in the NIT...especially if 2 go to the NCAA. It's just changed too much since the NCAA took over.

We do have the potential to put up a pretty gaudy non con record. I feel like we should win every single non con game with the exception of the two tourney games in KC, in which I would like to see us at least pull one of those out.

If we don't beat Pitt we should beat Iowa. I agree that every other game we should win. But we all know how that goes.

                I hope we take heed.

"Fun With KenPom. The point about weak non-conference scheduling is well-taken and one that Pomeroy shows in his 2008-09 statistics. Of the ten MVC teams, six of them had a nonconf SOS rating in the 200s. Three others were in the 100s, and only two (N0rthern Iowa and SIU) rated in the top 100. Whether it is an insistence that BCS schools play home & homes or another reason, it is clear that the MVC schools need to improve their scheduling in order to earn the respect they crave. A good start is playing in the multi-team events mentioned above, for they offer three nonconference games against (usually) good competition early in the season. It will be interesting to see how that will play out in this year’s Pomeroy strength of schedule numbers."

Though his point is fair, it would seem more credible if he was aware how many teams are in the league.

I'm not counting that UMKC game either.

All three of those were games we probably should have won and should win this year.

Isn't it nice when you can win games without even playing them.

As was pointed out before, we SHOULD beat UMKC everytime we play them. However, things don't always work the way they should.
