Only three more months until the season starts!

It's good to hear positive comments about Marshall though, especially about Hatch. I'm hoping he shoots well this year and gets his shot back; even more, his worth ethic is outstanding. I remember in our game vs. Creighton in STL, in the first half it seemed like he was the only one keeping us in the game.

Yeah, coach is pretty picky, so if he's that upbeat then it must have been decent and that's encouraging.

“We were able to go against a team that is well-coached and do our thing.”
I like the sound of that. The future is bright!

Too bad that Kyle's was out with the sprained ankle, but hopefully he gets fully healthy for the season.

Ahh, I didn't know that. Thanks.

Actually I'm GoddardCat 0n GPC and I don't post on K-StateFans.com. Looks like you guys have improved and I hope you do well in the MVC. I would point out that we beat a top 10 Marquette in a similar type scrimmage in '06 and then came back and barely beat Washburn in an exhibition. I don't doubt for a minute what Marshall said and kudos for him for having his team better prepared to face a Big XII team but it's damn hard to make any determination as to how good a team is based on the very limited information we can get. I am very encouraged to hear our big guys played well since we have a proven backcourt. 2 years ago we had Beasley/Walker and a mediocre backcourt and last year the situation was reversed. Only way to tell for sure this year is to play the games but I'm excited about basketball.

If I get any more info on the scrimmage I'll pass it along.

This is a report from a guy who says he got it from a friend that is on the WSU staff:

"Sorry for the delay work is pretty crazy today. The report is that WSU played even with us. The guards with the exception of Pullen did not shoot well, but Jake was not as assertive as he usually is. Denis did not shoot well including free throws.

Our forwards did dominate, WSU had issues with the length and athletism of the forwards.

The game was physical but sloppy."

Short but seems to confirm what Marshall said.

Very non-detailed (as expected) comments from Coach Marshall.

He confirmed David did not play. He like the way we competed and felt that the team was ahead of where they were after the scrimmage last season.

I probably shouldn't post this...not sure if it's against the rules, but aren’t rules supposed to be broken? Basically we dominated in every facet of the game. Most likely we’re slightly improved from our 2nd half of last season and KSU is looking like a B12 bottom feeder. Granted I’m just drawing conclusions from a scrimmage. Our guards pretty much ran circles around them and shot 3's at will. Our bigs were more closely matched, but the excellent guard play seemed to elevate the play of our bigs. I would like to conclude by saying I’m only guessing and really have no idea what happened.
