Don't tell anyone I said this, buy I think J.T. has as good a chance at 1st team as he does. I know he's a senior, but I haven't been that impressed with him.

I don't know if it is that he is that good or just lack of choices. Look at the 2nd Team C, he is also the Newcomer of the Year. Basically, they think there is one center in the league coming back worth anything.

Hopefully, by the end of the year we have a couple they overlooked.
Im in the boat of he only gets praise because he is a big body. The dude has been pretty unimpressive IMO the times that i have seen him.

The fact that Garrett had him beat quite a few times offensively last year should be pretty teliing....
Eglseder went to the Pete Newell Big Man Camp this past summer. We all know what that did for Paul Miller. I'm not expecting Eglseder to have developed a sweet Jack Sikma step-back jump shot, but I do expect that he learned some skills and banged with some bodies that he has not been able to do at UNI. Learn how to handle his body. Learn some moves. Learn how not to foul. Get in shape.

As stated many times before it takes many years for a big man to develop. I think that from a skill-set standpoint, Stutz is ahead of where Eglseder was as a sophomore. Time will tell. More and more big men are coming to the Valley...except for Creighton. I expect everyone to punish them on the inside.
Jordan Egsleder is/was/will never be anything close to what Paul miller is/was

If he had decent stamina he'd be a first teamer I think. The kid has some talent but can't stay in the game long enough to use it.

IMHO, I don't think Stutz has exhibited his skill-set to us yet, and hopefully this year he will get that done. Until then, the jury is still deliberating.

Shockall, he's obviously exhibited a skill set. What you're saying is that his skills set hasn't been good yet? What he said was that his skill set was better than Egleseder's as a Soph.

I'm with Sub on this one. The kid can shoot the ball well and doesn't do to bad a job with his body. He just can't hang with a fast pace game. Unless he has converted some of his 280 to muscle, I don't expect he will be 1st Team All Valley. But, if UNI can slow down a game to a half court pace, Jordan could inflict some damage.

Creighton will be needing P'unk to carry the load this year. I can see how some would think, given past experience, that CU would/should have a 1st teamer. However, Woodfox drew a teams best defender (rightfully so), now P'unk will have to be able to carry the load like Woodfox did. I don't think he can, but that's my humble opinion.

2nd team, Dillard and Weems are nice players, I just don't think there is enough body of work there. Bouchie, hasn't even done a thing yet. JT should have been on this 2nd team list.

Oh well.......more locker room material for the Shocks!

I have no problem with Weems on the list. He's really stepped up and I expect him to have a pretty good year for SWOMO.

When Weems was at Koch last year, he gave the Shockers more than they wanted. A lot more.

The same could be said for TM and CH!
