  • Ramon Clemente...

So I saw on Twitter that Ramon said he was scoring like 30+ points his first couple games with the team in Israel. Coach Jans, JT and PJ even gave him a hard time asking if it was really a 6'4" and under league LOL. I didn't really believe it....but here are his stats through the first 2 games:

    Min per game - 37.5
    PPG - 34.5
    FG% - 64.3%
    FT% - 93.8%
    RPG - 9.5
    Steals - 2.5

Now I'm all for Ramon....but I'm with Coach Jans, JT and PJ...what kind of league is this???!! ;) GO GET 'EM RAMON!!

"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Maccabi Ashdod is in the second tier of the Israeli Basketball Association. Teams that finish in the top two are promoted to the Super League which includes Maccabi Tel Aviv, Gal's team.

Looks like they play in smaller gyms...

Somebody else has to be shooting his FTs. I might be able to buy him shooting as high as 70% with work but 90+ seems impossible

People get better with practice, but you have to admit that that kind of improvement is quite drastic. Especially considering how much time he reportedly worked on it while here. It's an impressive feat but I just have to wonder if the FT line in Israel is only about 6 ft from the goal :D

We may have won a few more games had he shot like that while here.

Small sample size, but still impressive. The chance that a 58% shooter (his average at WSU) would make at least 15 of 16 free throws is 0.21%. Even if you suppose he's actually a 75% shooter, the chance is only 6.34%.

Good for Ramon! I'm thrilled to see him be successful, and I know he's a hard working dude.

Best of luck Ramon.... it was a pleasure to watch you play when you were here and don't forget to come back to Shockerland and say hello when you can.
