Interview with Doug Elgin

As part of the "Nine Questions for..." series, I had the chance to interview MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin.

I think you all will find his thoughts very interesting and candid.

Careful talking to Rasmussen. MP will have his MP's bring down your site for stealing information that should only be discussed on the PAY side.

Besides, here is all you need to know about Creighton, according to recent "INSIDER" interview, formerly only available to "INSIDER" sucke...I mean supporters.

Q - Mr. Rasmussen, does Creighton have a basketball team for men AND women?

A - Yes


Q - Do they own one of the nicest arenas in the Valley that holds 15,000+ screaming Bluejay fans?

A - No


Q - What do you mean no? Are you an idiot? Where do you think we play our home basketball games? Some rented facility we don't even own? Who do you think we are...Wichita State??

A - Actually Wichita State has a newly renovated arena and a new downtown arena that will seat 15,000+. We rent our facility to play our home games.


Q - So, what your telling me is we don't own our own arena?

A - Yes.


Q - And we rent the one we do play in?

A - Yes.


Q - But the men's soccer team has its own field?

A- Yes.


Q - And yet we rent a facility to play basketball?

A - Yes.


Q - So you're saying that soccer is more important than basketball?

A - No.


Q - Then what are you saying, MR. RASMUSSEN?

A - The men's soccer team has acutually not only been to the post season, but actually managed to earn us quite a bit of respect and admiration by winning some post season games.

(barely audible) Cut the line (hear click)

Host Commentary: That guy was an idiot. Can you believe that all he did was say yes and no? Can't believe he thinks, even though he is the AD, that we don't actually own the QWEST center....what a tard. That interview ranks right up there with that Coach Marshall dude from Wichita State.

Guys, if you agree to an interview...how about answering with more than "Yes" or "No" answers. Geez.

The interview with Bruce is already done... he was very open, although I didn't hit him with hard stuff.

I'm a member of the media, and thus have a right to interview anyone I want. If MP has a problem with me (which I already know he does) then he can email or call me.

Not trying to sound harsh... I just laugh at MP's determination to be the only CU source of info.

I was afraid this series of articles was just going to be another amateurish and homer blog like we've seen so many times. This is actually journalism with good writing and good information.
