I attended last years CU game and since it seemed to provide a sort of inspiration to the team, I'll make it two in a row.
    See everybody on the 9th @ 1:00 PM. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

Are the away games (not on national TV) still going to be shown on KN22?

You don't always get the greatest reception. But I'm thankful they didn't switch the Shox to 1240 when they flipped programming because that's even worse.

Oh, and now that I think about it the internet feed was poor at times.

I only listen to KNSS for Shocker games and associated material and Coast to Coast AM. I don't really care much for the rest of their programming. I do wish they could sync up better the TV so I could listen to "The Voice of the Shockers", Mike Kennedy instead of the dunces om TV. Some tech glitches, but those are likely to happen anywhere. I was PO'ed one time when they decided to leave a baseball game that was in doubt in the 9th to go to full time weather coverage. The weather wasn't affecting anyone in the area and KFDI already does that and much better.

                      Bingo! :good: :good:

I was hoping KEYN (FM) would be broadcasting the games like they do Volleyball. Oh well.

I too was hoping the broadcasts would be on KEYN just because of the better reception. Why are the VB games broadcast on KEYN and not the mens BB. Don't tell me the ratings are higher for VB than BB.

The synch thing with TV is more the TV networks' fault than radio. Different broadcast productions use different profanity delays so they can dump out offensive/objectionable audio and/or video in case someone bares their breasts or drops an f-bomb. There is also varying amounts of delay (usually very small) depending upon how the signal is routed via satellite. The radio production can change their delay, but, for example, if a game is on one of the ESPN networks and you get it via Cox Cable, Dish Network, or Direct TV the delay can be different. It is impossible to synch it up for everyone.

As far as the weather thing - this drives me crazy, too. There are plenty of resources available if one wants to switch over and listen to weather coverage ad nauseum. Some stations mission statements stress the public safety thing more than others. It used to be that the stipulations of being granted a license by the FCC for public broadcast, stations were required to perform a public service or public safety function. This may have changed, though. KWCH is the worst at lengthy, repetitive weather coverage.

My biggest beef with KNSS is their "don't give a damn" attitude about the internet feed and archiving the broadcasts. Way too often, the feed doesn't get turned-on by the engineer or the archives don't start and stop at the beginning and end of broadcasts.

I'm sure they will be shown on 22 and maybe a few on 12. Who knows, maybe we'll have a hell of a season and another game or 2 gets picked up nationally.

Well for the record the archives have nothing to do with KNSS. We do those on our own. We were never requested to do so by anyone but just thought it was a nice option.

The archives are totally automated though. I have them starting 5 minutes before the beginning of the hour which means about 10 minutes before tip off and they run for 3 hours. 3 hours should be enough to get at least the game but usually most of the post-game too.

I know of no problems with the archives though other than if the audio feed isn't turned on then obviously we are only recording dead air but all of the games should have a full 3 hours of archive.
