  • Pitt Guard Dixon Breaks Foot Again

He is likely out at least 8 weeks. Jermaine Dixon is Pitt's best returning player. Approximately 9 weeks from today we play Pitt.

Spoiler Alert: Bruce Willis was dead the whole time!

While I want a win, I don't want an asterisk beside it.

I hope he recovers in time.

Regardless of if he plays or not, if we win people / NCAA committee will put an asterisk by it. If he plays and we win, we will hear about how the win significance is less by him being at (insert percentage here) of full ability. Just my skeptical opinion.

That was my thinking as well. With or without him we can take that game!

Unless Dixon becomes a 1st team All-American and single-handedly leads Pitt to a Big East championship, there is no asterisk.

This is one guy, a 6'3 JuCo transfer guard who scored 8pg last year.

The RPI (or NCAA) doesn't care if someone was injured...

Actually, the selection committee does care. Now, whether that factors into their discussion of WSU (we can hope we're in the discussion) is debatable. But they will certainly look at that where Pitt is concerned.

The fan "Pittbaster" sure has a high opinion of Pitts chances for a return to the ncaa based on one of the starters returning. He also pretty much says that we are just one of the soft teams on the ooc schedule. Here,s hoping their guard is back and we b---- slap them in kc.

I know I'm dreaming here, but KU has trouble filling the Sprint Center so how bad would it be if WSU did?

I know I know. We can't fill Koch, how we going to fill SC.

But imagine the statement all those "we never play big names at home" fans could make turning it into Koch North.

IMO Pitt will be way down this year. Their fans can hope like all fans do but it is going to be a challenge to be anything close to what they were last year. We need to win this game. And then play Texas very well. If we play Iowa, it's no help even if we win.

Beating Texas Tech and TCU at home is not going to catch many votes.

Pitt may be down but they still have good players and new recruits in their system.

I agree, I said the same thing when we played UMKC last year at home.

I hope he can play at 100% by the time we play so they won't have ant excuses for why we beat them like our little red-headed stepchildren. (apologizes to all little red-headed stepchildren out there. ( no little red-head stepchildren were harmed during this post by the poster.)

I don't think we need any excuses for winning.....And if we win enough we will be in mix for the NCAA or NIT...Thats not to say I would not like to be playing a few more headliners...But at some point stacking up wins begins to attract attention

They don't return much and we might even get home-field advantage. I really like our chances in this game.
