  • WSU-Newman U.

I saw on the Newman University Athletics site that we are playing them on November 7. I think this is a good thing. I wasn't aware that Newman became a Div. II school.

I'm assuming this will be our first exhibition game...

I'm guessing it will be our only exhibition game. HCGM likes to play one exhibition game and one scrimmage against another D1 team, last year it was K-State.

Just looking over their roster and they only have one returning player over 6'5", 7'1" senior transfer Bryan Mokeski from Highland CC. He only averaged 6 minutes, 1.7 pts and 1.1 rebs per game last season at Newman.

I believe the scrimmage agreement we signed with K-State last year was for two years. The first year at K-State to be followed by a scrimmage in Wichita.

Mokeski is someone to give Stutz some experience against. While it shows him being 7'!'' he is only 220 lbs. Durley while being quite a bit shorter should be able to out quick him.

Hum. I could have sworn Ryan Bradley was 6'10". He's a senior this year I believe.

It appears to be last year's roster, showing Ryan to have been a Senior. And that makes sense because he left WSU after his So. year and has been at Newman for two years.

Bryan Mokeski is the son of former KU player Paul Mokeski. Paul was a role player for a long time in the NBA. Bryan is not that talented.

Papa Paul wasn't bad. He was more like 250. His game was kind of like Ostertag's if I recall correctly. He had a pretty decent hook.

Now the game is no longer listed on the Newman schedule. Jumped the gun a little?

Looks like we can count on the Newman game but the contract probably has not yet been signed.
